An interesting development re Steve Jobs. Most folks know that he postponed treatment for the Cancer but this is an add on. The biography goes on to describe how Jobs tried to combat the cancer using a number of "alternative" treatments. These included a vegan diet, acupuncture, herbal remedies and even, most bizarrely, consulting a psychic. According to the biography after having the surgery in July 2004, Jobs regretted his decision to wait so long."'I really didn't want them to open up my body, so I tried to see if a few other things would work,' he told me years later with a hint of regret," Isaacson writes.... The Mary Celeste Enigma

It’s the stuff of maritime legend: a ship sighted in the distance, hailed without response, and boarded to reveal a vessel under full sail, its wheel creaking aimlessly, cabin doors slamming open and shut in the wind, and … not a soul onboard.

On Dec. 4, 1872, it actually happened. The Mary Celeste was discovered between the Azores and Portugal—her crew vanished without a trace of a struggle, the ship still fully provisioned. What calamity befell the ship remains a mystery. A final log entry, on Nov. 24, showed no hint of distress. The cabin of Capt. Benjamin Briggs was untouched, right down to the sewing machine and parlor melodeon belonging to his wife and infant daughter; the child’s ghostly indentation remained visible on a bed. The crew must have “left in a great hurry,” reported the boarding party, for their pipes and tobacco were still there—and no sailor, they noted, willingly abandons ship without his pipe.
...Theories on the cause of the disappearance have ranged from cargo fumes to mutiny to (inevitably) alien abduction. The Mary Celeste’s fate inspired fictional solutions in an Arthur Conan Doyle story (which blamed a race war), a 1935 Hammer horror film (a hook-armed Bela Lugosi), and a Dr. Who episode (Daleks, of course.)

What’s not as well-known is that the Mary Celeste was also at the center of a second mystery. The disconcerting disappearance of its crew notwithstanding, the Mary Celeste still had plenty of life left in her, and soon went back into service. Thirteen years and 17 hapless owners later, Mary was mostly infamous for being in poor shape and for losing money on runs from Boston to Africa and the West Indies. It was merely one final indignity when she wrecked off Haiti in January 1885, slamming squarely into Rochelois Reef, a known hazard. The ship didn’t sink, but its hopelessly splintered remains would never leave the reef. Capt. Gilman Parker declared the cursed ship a loss, and then went ashore to sell the salvage rights to a load of ale, cutlery, and shoes for $500. That’s where the story might have ended—except that police showed up at the captain’s door in Boston three months later. The Mary Celeste, they charged, was a 282-ton, fully-rigged insurance scam.

The July 1885 trial of Capt. Parker and the ship’s co-owners, now buried in the Boston Globe archives, offers a fascinating glimpse into a Gilded Age flimflam.
Laying out charts and totting up blackboard figures in a broiling Boston courtroom, prosecutors revealed a chain of scams that reached from Haiti back to the alleyways of their own city.

Capt. Parker might have pulled it off, too, except that he’d gotten greedy: Not content to rip off just his insurers, he also tried to con the local salvager in Haiti. The salvager hadn’t found anything near the 125 casks of Bass ale promised on the ship’s manifest, and the few he did locate weren’t exactly good drinking. Called to the stand, a Boston bottler revealed they were moldy blanks with Bass labels pasted to them, and filled with “ullage”—bottom-of-barrel runoff from smashed and leaking bottles. The bottler hadn’t even bothered filling many of them; some were “half full, some a third full, and some just enough to wet the bottle."

The rest of the cargo was similarly suspect. The 975 barrels of “New Fortune Herring”? That was actually 780 barrels of rotten fish that stank so badly that one fish merchant said it was good only “for fertilizers.” Wooden barrels of “Fine” butter proved to be rank “slush.” The Haiti-bound food cargo was so foul that one conspirator was overheard musing, “If these n— eat that fish and drink that beer, they will all be dead.”

A crate supposed to contain $1,000 in cutlery, when pried open, revealed $50 worth of dog collars. Boxes of “women’s high-button boots” were old galoshes. The ship and its cargo, covered by five insurers for a whopping $34,000, were hardly worth the kerosene necessary to burn the wreck. Capt. Parker, in short, was in deep trouble.

“The defense lawyers were wild,” one investigator later marveled of Parker’s shambolic team. Parker’s attorney cited famed Massachusetts eccentric “Lord” Timothy Dexter—a late-18th-century merchant who supposedly shipped mittens and warming pans to the West Indies—to assert that the Mary Celeste’s cargo belonged to a splendid tradition of crazy-like-a-fox speculations. If the vulpine side of the simile was left unexplained, the crazy part was easy to spot. Haitians did“They say the goods were overinsured. Suppose they were. It is a common thing to overinsure,” sputtered Parker’s attorney. And if the crew said the goods were worthless, well, everyone knew they liked to tell stories. “Spinning a yarn is a sailor’s phrase,” he insisted.

Perhaps yarn-spinning could also explain the crew members who saw Capt. Parker toss the ship’s papers overboard, proclaiming “They’re gone. No one will know what’s in them.” And maybe it accounted for the first mate’s claim that he’d dissuaded Parker from a plan to wreck by the more dangerous Turks Islands, pleading, “For God’s sake don’t pile her up there; we shall all be drownded.”

But it wasn’t so easy for the defense to explain a letter in the captain’s hand, dated two months after the wreck, which the first mate also produced:n’t typically buy new Bass ale or salted herring, let alone rotten beer and fish.

After days of testimony, now it was the jury who knew too much. They had to decide whether Parker’s plot deserved a conviction on the maritime charge of barratry—deliberate destruction of a vessel—a crime then punishable by death.

After counts and recounts, the jury returned with a shocker: They’d deadlocked, 7-5, with the majority in favor of conviction. The five holdouts, it seemed, just couldn’t bring themselves to send a man to the gallows over rotten fish and bad butter. Three years later, and perhaps with the abandoned prosecution of Capt. Parker in mind, a Massachusetts congressman worked to amend the barratry law so that it would no longer be a capital offense.

“The penalty of death would be simply shocking,” he admitted to a House committee. “In many cases juries refused to convict, even when guilt was proved, as the only way to prevent a greater evil.”

But the doomed ship seemed to carry its own sentence: Nearly everyone else indicted in the conspiracy went bust, and Capt. Parker died under obscure circumstances just three months after his trial. 11/12/2011 - North Carolina: "I was out jogging on the 12th as I normally do on the weekends. I decided to jog a nature trail located over in Guilford County. I started my run at about 8am and stopped to rest at about 9:30am. I saw something down the trail from me. It was short like a midget and it was white and had a metalic colored suit on. It was just standing there looking at me. I had not seen anyone else that morning on the trail. I thought it was just another individual ahead of me that had stopped to rest. I get up and continue down the trail. I look at my watch and it was approx. 9:45am. That is all I remember doing. When I woke up, I was back in my car. It was almost 11am. I can still see the dwarf in my memory. I keep repeating it over and over in my head, tryng to remember what happened. I can't remember anything other than being very tired when I woke up in my car and having a small cut just behind my left ear. I wish I could remember more."

Larry King overshadowed his guests on Sunday night for one of his specials, CNN Presents: A Larry King Special: Dinner with the Kings. The entertainer invited Conan O'Brien, Tyra Banks, Shaquille O'Neal, Seth MacFarlane, Jack Dorsey, Quincy Jones and Russell Brand to his dinner table to talk life, entertainment and all parts in-between.

While the news broadcaster was hoping to make headlines with his guests, the headings he made were more about himself and the idea that he wasn’t to be Cryogenically Frozen.

"Oh, I fear death," said Larry King. "My biggest fear is death, because I don't think I'm going anywhere. And since I don't think that, and I don't have a belief… I'm married to someone who has the belief, so she knows she's going somewhere.”

The entertainer seemed to shock his guests talking about being frozen and what happens after he is frozen after death.

"I want to be frozen on the hope that they'll find whatever I died of and bring me back," said Larry King.

In the Fall of 2010 it seemed pretty creepy that thousands of dead birds had fallen from the sky, millions of dead fish were turning up, and tens of thousands of dead crabs were littering beaches. But it turns out these aren't the only bizarre mass animal deaths that have occurred over the years. The most bizarre, IMO, has occurred at Scotland's Overtoun Bridge, located near the village of Milton in the burgh of Dumbarton.

In the past fifty years, 50 to 600 dogs have jumped over Scotland’s Overtoun Bridge and plummeted to their deaths. A few years ago, five dogs jumped in under six months. The Daily Mail wrote an article featuring reports of horrified pet owners who walked their dog over the bridge, when suddenly the dog would, without warning, leap over the bridge, falling 50 ft to the rocky bottom below. Perhaps even more disturbing, there are reports of “second timers”...of the few dogs who have survived the fall, some jumped over the same bridge again.
Many theories have circulated about why dogs react this way to the bridge. Some suggest that the dogs are deliberately committing suicide, perhaps due to depression in their owners or even a supernatural force.

Most of the dogs were long-nosed breeds; Labradors, Collies and Retrievers. Dog deaths have occurred in every season, but notably, on clear days, a rarity in this grey, wet part of Scotland. All of the dogs leapt from the same side of the bridge.
The most logical theory would seem to indicate something with the 'scent' at the bridge. RSPB researcher David Sexton planted several traps under the bridge and found mice and mink living there, and many squirrel nests nearby. He isolated the three animals’ scents and placed samples of each in a large field. He then unleashed ten dogs of the same breeds that routinely jump from the bridge. Only two dogs showed no interest in any of the scents...while seven of the dogs immediately went for the scent of the mink. In fact, it seemed that they were driven crazy by it.

So it may be that the smell of mink is irresistible to dogs, and not knowing about the 50 foot drop from the bridge, simply go wild and jump when they get a sniff of the scent. This would also explain why the “suicides” only \seem to happen to clear days, when the mink scent is undiluted by rain. It also lines up nicely with the timeline for mink populations in Scotland. The animals were only released into the wild in Scotland in the 1920s, and only began breeding in large numbers in the 1950s.

But there’s still the matter of why some dogs, once they’re on the ground after their jump, often go back up the bridge and jump again instead of chasing the mink. Or why the dogs only seem to jump from one specific point of the bridge and not others. Or why dogs go crazy for mink only here, when there are an estimated 26,000 mink all over Scotland?

According to legend, this is a place of dark deeds, tragedy and superstition. On one occasion, a man, behaving very erratically, threw his young baby from the bridge, believing it to be possessed by the devil.

In recent years the number of deaths has risen dramatically, with five animals jumping in six months. The story continues to attract widespread media attention, giving rise to the theory that these dogs could be committing suicide.

Overtoun House and it's grounds have garnered a reputation as a centre for unexplained phenomena. In Celtic mythology, Overtoun is known as a "thin" place. A place where Heaven and Earth are reputed to be close. Some have speculated that sensitive dogs are being spooked by something at the bridge."

Doctors pull 28 nails from girl's body

Doctors in eastern Indonesia have removed the last of 28 nails found embedded in a three-year-old girl's legs and back in a horrific case some residents and officials blamed on witchcraft.

The doctors in Makassar on Sulawesi island had already removed more than two dozen 10-centimetre rusty nails, broken syringe needles and aluminium rods from the girl's legs before removing a nail lodged dangerously close to her spine.

"The girl is recovering from the operation and is generally in good condition. She is already playing again," the girl's surgeon Kamaruddin said.

X-rays in September revealprompting suspicions among local residents that they had been inserted magically.

The governor of South Sulawesi province, Syahrul Yasin Limpo, visited the victim and said he believed witchcraft was to blame.

"Believe it or not, in South Sulawesi it is possible for these sorts of things to happen," Mr Syahrul was quoted as saying by local media.

"We have often heard about people whose heads suddenly go soft and medics have no idea what the cause is. It's called magic and it's explained in the Koran."

This morning I spoke by telephone with Beverly Gleason McKittrick, an ex-wife of the late comedian Jackie Gleason. I explained to her that I was interested in the progress of her book and if she could talk about Jackie Gleason's claim of seeing alien bodies at Homestead Air Force Base in Florida.
She said that the book never came out as she had 'stopped writing' of it. She said she was 'glad to get out of it' as Jackie Gleason did not seem pleased with her quoting him on the aliens in Florida. She said that there was not much additional to tell as the whole story regarding Jackie Gleason and the aliens, as far as she knew, had already been printed anyway.

"Esquire Magazine interviewed me after our separation," she said, "and I talked about how Jackie told me about seeing dead aliens in Florida. I think it was sometime in '74 when this happened. When I said that it was because he told me."

"He and Nixon were in contact quite a bit and I'm not sure how that was arranged, but it seems that their meetings were set up by an associate of Nixon's. After he got back, he was very pleased he had an opportunity to see the dead little men in cases, he explained to me what they looked like and he was still talking about it the next day."

Beverly explained that during her interview with Esquire Magazine, she made the statement about Gleason's claim to see dead"We were on the verge of divorce, but everything was okay until it came out in Esquire," she said.

She informed that Gleason never did deny the story.

Regarding her announced intention to write a book, Beverly again said that she abandoned the project due in large part to Gleason's objection to her comments about him seeing the aliens.

"I just made that one statement about the UFOs and it appeared in Esquire and I guess a few other places and he didn't like that and I thought, I just can't go through with this. Let him live his life. So I never wrote the book."

Is This The Knife Of Jack The Ripper?

A six-inch blade recently discovered could be the one used by Victorian serial killer Jack the Ripper, it has emerged. It was found among possessions belonging to Welsh surgeon Sir John Williams, a chief suspect in the Victorian murders.

Sir John, known to his family at the time of the killings as "Uncle Jack" was the surgeon to Queen Victoria who lived in London at the time of the slayings.

He fled the capital after the murders and later founded the National Library for Wales in Aberystwyth.

One of his distant relatives has now unearthed the old black-handled surgeon's knife, which he used for operations, and believes it could be the murder weapon.

"When Canadian researchers recently conducted an ultrasound to examine a growth on a patient’s testicles, they expected to look at the mass, but didn’t expect the mass to be staring back.

“It was almost like art coming out of this patient’s testicles,” said Dr. Naji Touma, an assistant professor of urology at Queen’s University in Kingston, Ont. “It was an amusing finding.”

Despite the image, however, Touma doesn’t suspect any divine presence.somebody would look at this like the Virgin Mary on toast . . . but it’s not the case.”

Touma and a resident doctor, Gregory Roberts, discovered the “face” in one of more than three dozen images that were scanned of the patient who had been feeling discomfort about two years ago.

Luckily for the patient — a 45-year-old paraplegic man — the growth was benign and doctors removed the testicle with no complications.

The case was published in a recent issue of the journal Urology under the title, “The Face of Testicular Pain: A Surprising Ultrasound Finding.”

Touma said it was just the way shadows fell in that particular image that created the “face,” which bears a slight resemblance to Edvard Munch’s famous painting, The Scream.

"NASA launches sting operation to retrieve tiny moon fragment from 73-year-old grandmother

But at the end of the sting operation, agents were left holding a speck of lunar dust smaller than a grain of rice and a 73-year-old suspect who was terrified by armed officials.

Five months after NASA investigators and local agents swooped into the restaurant and hailed their operation as a cautionary tale for anyone trying to sell national treasure, no charges have been filed, NASA isn't talking and the case appears stalled.

The target, Joann Davis, a grandmother who says she was trying to raise money for her sick son, asserts the lunar material was rightfully hers, having been given to her space-engineer husband by Neil Armstrong in the 1970s.

"It's a very upsetting thing," Davis, now 74, said. "It's very detrimental, very humiliating, all of it a lie."

The strange case centers on a speck of authenticated moon rock encased in an acrylic-looking dome that appears to be a paperweight. For years, NASA has gone after anyone selling lunar material gathered on the Apollo missions because it is considered government property, so cannot be sold for profit.

Still, NASA has given hundreds of lunar samples to nations, states and high-profile individuals but only on the understanding they remain government property. NASA's inspector general works to arrest anyone trying to sell them.

The case was triggered by Davis herself, according to a search warrant affidavit written by Norman Conley, an agent for the inspector general.

She emailed a NASA contractor May 10 trying to find a buyer for the rock, as well as a nickel-sized piece of the heat shield that protected the Apollo 11 space capsule as it returned to earth from the first successful manned mission to the moon in 1969.

"I've been searching the internet for months attempting to find a buyer," Davis wrote. "If you have any thoughts as to how I can proceed with the sale of these two items, please call."

Davis said the items were among many of the space-related heirlooms her husband left her when he died in 1986. She said she had worked as a lexicographer and he had worked as an engineer for North American Rockwell, which contracted for NASA during the Apollo era.

Davis claims Armstrong gave the items to her husband, though the affidavit says the first man on the moon has previously told investigators he never gave or sold lunar material to anyone.

In follow-up phone conversations with a NASA agent, Davis acknowledged the rock was not sellable on the open market and fretted about an agent knocking on her door and taking the material, which she was willing to sell for "big money underground."

"She must know that this is a questionable transaction because she used the term 'black market,'" Agent Conley states in the search warrant.

Curiously, though, Davis agreed to sell the sample to NASA for a stellar $1.7 million. She said she wanted to leave her three children an inheritance and take care of her sick son.

NASA investigators then arranged the sting, where Conley met with Davis and her current husband at the Denny's restaurant at Lake Elsinore in Riverside County.

Soon after settling into a booth, Davis said, she pulled out the moon sample and about half a dozen sheriff's deputies and NASA investigators rushed into the eatery.

When officers in flak vests took a hold of her, the 4-foot-11 woman said she was so scared she lost control of her bladder and was taken outside to a parking lot, where she was questioned and detained for about two hours.

"They grabbed me and pulled me out of the booth," Davis claimed. "I had very, very deep bruises on my left side."

Conley declined to comment and NASA Office of the Inspector General spokeswoman Renee Juhans said she could not talk about an ongoing investigation.

Davis was eventually allowed home, without the moon rock, and was never booked into a police station or charged.

The affidavit states authorities believed Davis was in possession of stolen government property but so far they have not publicly revealed any proof.

"This (is) abhorrent behavior by the federal government to steal something from a retiree that was given to her," said Davis's attorney, Peter Schlueter, who is planning legal action.

Joseph Gutheinz, a University of Phoenix instructor and former NASA investigator who has spent years tracking down missing moon rocks, said prosecuting Davis

could prove tricky.

Gutheinz said he recently learned that NASA did not always take good care of lunar materials. In some instances, space suits were simply hosed off and any moon dust on them lost forever.

While bigger rocks such as those given to various countries and museums were carefully inventoried and tracked, it now appears there are unknown numbers of much smaller pieces circulating in the public. Some of these may have been turned into paperweights and informally given away by NASA engineers.

"I have a real moral problem with what's happened here in California," Gutheinz said. "I've always taken the position that no one should own an Apollo-era moon rock. They belong to the people. But if we did such a poor job of safeguarding (lunar samples,) I cannot fault that person."
About 2,200 samples of lunar rocks, core samples, pebbles, sand and dust - weighing about 840 pounds (380 kilograms) - were brought to Earth by NASA's Apollo lunar landing missions from 1969 to 1972. Rafael Perrin was hosting a party one night in his apartment. Around midnight he stepped out onto his sidewalk when he noticed a wounded dog lying on the sidewalk, twisting, and howling. He went to assist the suffering animal, but was prevented from touching the dog by a "young fellow dressed in rags," who in spite of his reduced circumstances did not act like a beggar.

The youth told Perrin that a band of aliens roaming the streets of Mexico City had inflected harm upon the canine with a small beam-emitting device they carried on them. Shadow Scare

"Cherokee County, North Carolina -- late night

The witness was sleeping on the couch at his girlfriend's house. The room was pitch black when he saw a dark figure in the hallway that seemed to materialize. The figure was human-shaped and blacker then the darkness in the hall. The head of the figure reached the ceiling and slightly bent forward as if the ceiling were too low for the figure to stand erect. He lay on the couch not comprehending what his eyes were seeing. He tried to speak but no words would come out of his mouth. He tried to yell but only a whisper would come out. The room seemed to get colder as the figure moved slowly forward in a gliding motion. He tried to move but his body refused to obey. The only movement he managed to make was an involuntary tremble.

As the silhouette moved into the living room, it moved around the walls with it's head turned toward the witness. Something made him turn his head and watch the giant dark figure gliding around the room. It moved behind the stove and through the stovepipe as if nothing were there. He watched as the dark figure moved closer and closer to the couch where he lay. The black silhouette was now next to the couch. As the witness lay there looking at the dark figure, a feeling of pure evil
came over him. His mind went numb, and tears began forming in his eyes. Then as if miles away, he heard laughter. Evil laughter, laughter not of this world. As the laughter grew closer, it begin to sound as if many people were gathered in a room engaged in some sort of party, with many conversations going on at the same time. He then heard the laughter again and a high-pitched woman's voice say, "We scared him to death."

In his mind, the witness began to pray. He managed to yell out, "God help me!" With that said the dark apparition began to fade until it completely disappeared from his sight. The coldness in the room was replaced with the heat radiating from the stove."

"...a woman in Newaygo County, Mich., told Discovery News that she has been interacting with and actually feeding a large family of close to 10 Bigfoot-like creatures who live in the woods near her home for the past two years.

"They get fish every day, a bucket of fruit, a bucket of dry dog food," said Robin Lynn Pfeifer, a 47-year-old resident of Newaygo County, north of Grand Rapids. "Their favorite thing is blueberry bagels. If I'm not baking them, I go to different stores to buy them."

"I tell them they are feeding the wildlife," Pfeifer said.

She said she has collected casts of many large footprints, but says the creatures are too shy and too clever for her to get a photograph. She describes the Bigfoots as ranging from six to nine feet tall and looking like humans, except for hairy coats and broad noses.

"The biggest one I've sat and looked at for 15 minutes was nine and a half feet tall," Pfeifer told Discovery News. "The large male is all black. Others are beige and white. The biggest footprint is 18 and a half inches long."

Skeptics say that big claims need big proof, and so far that hasn't happened when it comes to Bigfoot. Natural history and evolutionary scientists also ask how these creatures could have survived for so long without being detected, and where the evidence is of their body or bones or DNA.

Loren Coleman directs the International Cryptozoology Museum in Portland, Maine and has been studying and writing about strange sightings of creatures for several decades. He says he's skeptical of anyone who comes forward with tales of lengthy Bigfoot encounters without providing serious evidence.

"All the Bigfoot contactees -- for some reason they never take photographs," Coleman said. "There's a lot of interest in finding these things, but we have to look of the credibility of the people feeding us the stories. I'm always careful of two kinds of people, the debunkers who have no interest and true believers who will not bring any critical thinking."..."

Demon Dog of Valle Crucis.

Being a NC Resident.I love to hear the stories of the area.Here is one from Lon:

"A few of my relatives were raised in the North Carolina mountains. There were a lot of stories that came out of the region but the one tale that each one knew the best was that of the demon dog of Valle Crucis. The community of Valle Crucis, which is Latin for "Vale of the Cross" and refers to the valley where three streams come together to form a shape similar to a cross, is rustic and a favorite destination for tourists. But don't let the quaint scenery hide the truth...there is a dark side to Valle Crucis.

There's an old stone church (St. John's Episcopal), located along Highway 194 just on the edge of town, where in the churchyard cemetery the supernatural moves among the venerable graves. St. John's was built in the 1860's and the legends of the hellhound and other strange beings have been told for several generations.(pictured)

The traditional story starts on clear moonlit Autumn night. Two young men, who were students at a local college, were driving through the Valle Crucis area when they received the shock of their lives.
They were driving along Highway 195 that leads through Valle Crucis at around midnight. As their car passed the old church, the young men saw a large shadow leap out from behind one of the tombstones in the church graveyard. The shadow leaped into the road in front of them. The driver swerved his car to avoid the shape that suddenly landed in his path. He slammed his foot on the brake and pulled his car over to the shoulder of the road, according to the witnesses' accounts.
Both he and his friend were startled to see that it was a massive dog. It was as tall and big as a fully grown man. The fearsome canine was covered with bristling black fur and had large yellow teeth. And most unusual of all, the dog's eyes were glowing. They were not reflecting back the light like a dog's or cat's eyes will sometimes do. Instead, these eyes were really glowing with a weird red light.

One of the young men turned to the other and asked "Do you see that?" His friend said "No and neither do you."

As the unearthly growling beast walked toward their car, the driver took his foot off the brake and hit the gas. The car roared down the winding mountain road and barely made it along the sharp curves. The driver did his best to control the car as the speedometer reached 60 and then 70 miles an hour.

The driver looked in his rear view mirror and his face turned white from what he saw. The ghostly dog was keeping up with his speeding car. It was even gaining on them.Determined to get away from the nightmarish canine, the driver pushed his accelerator even harder. His car leaped over a bridge just below where the streams meet to form a cross. At that point, the dog stopped following them and vanished from sight.

The two frightened young men drove into Boone and stopped at the local diner, because it was the only place open at that hour. They knew they would not get any sleep that night. They also knew they would never forget the demon dog of Valle Crucis.

Traditionally the tales from this area center around a supernatural canine but there have been other odd sightings including the apparition of a woman near the very same cemetery. There have also been sounds of gunshots and of a female crying. No one has attributed these sounds to any known event but its just another unexplained occurrence typically encountered at the location."

Halloween is on the way

It's becoming the most famous, and controversial lawn mower in North Carolina. A homeowner, just wanting to pull a little Halloween prank, created a scene that prompted at least one call to 911 and thousands of hits on web sites across the world.

The Halloween decor at a home along Organ Church Road in eastern Rowan County scared a driver so much that he called 911, nearly prompting a full emergency response.

The call came into the county's 911 Communication Center Monday morning after the caller stated that he saw what appeared to be a man trapped under a riding lawn mower.

Luckily, someone else quickly let the 911 folks know it was a decoration, just in time to stop what would have been an emergency response.

As seen in the pictures taken Monday by WBTV, the scene does appear realistic. The blood covered arms and legs stick out from beneath a blood spattered lawn mower on a large patch of grass.

Chris Deaton's Halloween display has been getting another response around town, and it's been a big one...

"It's something to talk about around town," said Wendy Bethea, the clerk on duty at Cheesman's Store. "I've had a couple customers talking about it, being out there."

And online, the story has hit CNN, the Daily Mail in the UK, and it's gotten lots of comments on wbtv.com, most questioning whether the macabre decoration goes too far.

"I think it's harmless, I think it's fun, Halloween," Bethea added.

That's what most seem to say, others think a Happy Halloween sign would have made it better...or maybe just some more calm and sedate, like the gruesome scenes on Faith Road.

Chris Deaton wasn't available today. His mother told WBTV that he had the same decoration up close to the house last year, but decided to move it to the road this year.

He has been amused at all the attention it has gotten.

"Siberian Locals Complain Yeti Eats Too Much

The local Shor people in Kemerovo Region, Siberia, are reporting that something is snatching up the wild leek crop that is a staple of their diet, Itar-Tass Siberia reports. The onion-lovers leave behind abundant large footprints with clearly defined toes, similar to the prints found in the area earlier this year, the news service continues.

Bigfoot sightings are common in this remote section of the taiga and they have received attention worldwide. An expedition headed by director of the International Center for Hominology Igor Burtsev visited the area at the end of March to study footprints found in Azasskaya Cave, but the effort resulted in little
new information.

Now local Tashtagol District administrator Vladimir Makuta notes that he has received 14 new written reports of yeti sightings near the cave and the nearby Mrassu River. The witnesses say the creature – thought by some to be a relict hominoid – is 1.5-2 meters (5-6.5 feet) tall and covered in reddish black fur."

First Irish case' of death by spontaneous combustion

"Michael Faherty, 76, died at his home in Galway on 22 December 2010.

Deaths attributed by some to "spontaneous combustion" occur when a living human body is burned without an apparent external source of ignition.

Typically police or fire investigators find burned corpses but no burned furniture.

An inquest in Galway on Thursday heard how investigators had been baffled as to the cause of Mr Faherty's death at his home at Clareview Park, Ballybane.

Forensic experts found that a fire in the fireplace of the sitting room where the badly burnt body was found, had not been the cause of the blaze that killed Mr Faherty.

The court was told that no trace of an accelerant had been found and there had been nothing to suggest foul play.

The court heard Mr Faherty had been found lying on his back with his head closest to an open fireplace.

The fire had been confined to the sitting room. The only damage was to the body, which was totally burnt, the ceiling above him and the floor underneath him.

Dr McLoughlin said he had consulted medical textbooks and carried out other research in an attempt to find an explanation.

He said Professor Bernard Knight, in his book on forensic pathology, had written about spontaneous combustion and noted that such reported cases were almost always near an open fireplace or chimney.

"This fire was thoroughly investigated and I'm left with the conclusion that this fits into the category of spontaneous human combustion, for which there is no adequate explanation," he said.
'Sharp intake of breath'

Retired professor of pathology Mike Green said he had examined one suspected case in his career.

He said he would not use the term spontaneous combustion, as there had to be some source of ignition, possibly a lit match or cigarette.

"There is a source of ignition somewhere, but because the body is so badly destroyed the source can't be found," he said.

He said the circumstances in the Galway case were very similar to other possible cases.
"This is the picture which is described time and time again," he said.

"Even the most experienced rescue worker or forensic scientist takes a sharp intake of breath (when they come across the scene)."

Mr Green said he doubted explanations centred on divine intervention.

"I think if the heavens were striking in cases of spontaneous combustion then there would be a lot more cases. I go for the practical, the mundane explanation," he said."

Another interesting item from Phantoms And Monsters.

"Hi Lon, I have been reading your blog for a few months especially after I came across the experiences of David Eckhart and his family. To some people these incidents may be mere imagination - but my experiences are just as strange and frightening.

To begin, I am in my mid 60's and these experiences took place over a period of 15 years starting when I began my law practice in 1972. I had lived in Ontario, Canada all my life but eventually moved to the United States and became a citizen. My life too this point had been fairly uneventful and I was raised by wonderful parents. I was naive to the supernatural and considered it a farce. I was very conservative in my ideals including my commitment to my church and other civic organizations.

One afternoon while working in my office my secretary paged me to say that a gentleman was waiting and wanted to talk to me. He didn't have an appointment but said that he needed to see me immediately. I agreed and told her to let him in. The man was very well dressed in a suit and walked directly to the chair in front of my desk and sat down. He looked at me in a strange manner almost like he wasn't sure if he should be there. I stood when he entered the office but he did not reciprocate when I reached to shake his hand. I sat back down and asked how I could help him. He looked away then slowly back towards me, leaned forward and said "I was told to tell you something."

"OK - by whom?" I asked. He started a story that was simply unbelievable - but I knew he was telling me the truth. Why? I have no idea - but I just knew that his words were meant for me and that I'd better follow through with the instructions. After a few minutes, the man (I never got a name from him) told me he had to leave, turned around and walked out of the office. I sat there dumfounded and worried - was he really telling me the truth?

When I got home I tried to relax before I made my next decision. I was frightened by this time and dreaded making that telephone call. I sat in my recliner and picked up the telephone and dialed. The telephone on the other end rang for two minutes without an answer - there was no answering machine - it just continued to ring. They weren't home and it was too late for them to be out. I called their neighbor to check on them. The car was in the driveway and there was no answer at the door. The neighbor contacted the police who arrived and entered the house. There was uneaten food on the table and the television in the dining room was on. They were gone - my parents were abducted!

The mystery man in my office had told me that he was approached earlier that day by a young woman who had an odd manner of speech and looked out of place because she wore a strange brown hooded poncho. He had been eating in a local diner when this woman simply walked over to his booth and sat down across from him. She looked into his eyes and he started to feel as if he was drugged. She told him where to find me and to give me these instructions. I was to stay home tonight and to call my parents. They will not answer - they are with us. We need to talk to you - it is important that you do as you have been instructed.

I was utterly scared to the roots. What was going to happen to my parents and what was going to happen tonight? I prepared for the evening in the best way I knew - just sit and watch television until something happened. It didn't take long.

About an hour after I had started to watch television the power went out - including the neighborhood and, from what I could gather, much of the city. I looked out the window - it was very dark. I walked over to my recliner and started to sit down when I heard a clicking sound coming from the hallway. I looked in the direction of the hallway and noticed something moving towards me. It had a metallic look to it but also seemed to be cloaked and almost invisible. As I stared at this form it began to speak to me in English but very deliberate. "Please be calm and listen. You are safe - your parents are safe. It had to be done - there is no explanation that you could understand." I asked when will my parents return. The answer was "They will return when ready" - then the form backed up and disappeared. Ready for what?

That was in March 1972. I received 6 more visits by similar but different beings and with the same message - the last visit was in 1987 just before Christmas.

My parents have never returned. There was an attempt by the authorities to search for them but there was no evidence available and the case quickly went cold. I did eventually get married and helped raise a son. My wife and I are very happy. She knows about my ordeal and, like I, wonders if they will return one day.

"The answer, of course, is no… well, probably not. For one thing he seems to be aging right before our eyes and for another he has never exhibited an inability to consume solid food, nor any signs of heliophobia for that matter. Nevertheless one e-Bay seller insists that he has unearthed a Civil War era photograph that proves that the ubiquitous actor was alive (or undead, as the case may be) way back in the 1870s.

The owner of the admittedly eerie photograph is an antiques dealer from Bristol, Tennessee, by the name of Jack Mord — which, in and of itself, sounds a bit creepy, like an old Mad Magazine spoof of Jack Lord that would come out around Halloween time. Regardless of his appellation, Mord claimed that he stumbled across the strange picture in back of an old photo album that was allegedly: “filled with an unusual number of Civil War death portraits.”

A first Mord claimed that the fellow in the photo the only unidentified one of the bunch, but soon after he revealed that it was actually an antique memorial portrait of a Confederate prisoner named Lieutenant G.B. Smith and that the now notorious image was taken in 1864, at Johnson’s Island prison camp in Ohio by a clandestine Confederate photographer named Lieutenant Robert Smith — it is unclear if they were related or not.
Nevertheless, Mord still claims that he believes this to be a genuine photograph of the Academy Award winning (and potentially bloodsucking) superstar, which, no doubt, is why he is able to justify the exorbitant $1,000,000 asking price for the portrait. In Mord’s own words:

"An example of a case of alleged alien abduction that appears to have been part of a sophisticated mind-control operation is described by Alison, a now-forty-year-old woman from Arizona, who lives on a ranch not too far from the town of Sedona. Alien Implants

Recently on C2C, " Dr. Roger Leir reported on results from this 16th alien implant removal surgery. The removed object, which was around 6mm in length, put out a strong magnetic field, and also had radio waves coming out of it. Further, the center of the object was so hard, they couldn't cut through it with any lab instruments. Leir also shared the calculations of physicist Dr. Bob Koontz, who suggested that aliens visiting us might be from 300,000 light years away."

Individuals who claim that they have been abducted by extra terrestrials often believe that their bodies have been implanted with some sort of object. During routine X-rays and MRIs abductees discover unexplained objects in their body. Indeed, under hypnosis abductees often describe operations in which needles are inserted into the brain; more frequently still, they report implantation of foreign objects through the sinus deep inside their nasal cavity, hand, leg or ear by extra terrestrials.

Numerous implants have been removed and studied by medical doctors. The doctors have found that the implants are no more than 3cm (1 inch) long and 1mm (1/16 of an inch) in thickness. The implant is wire-shaped and under an electron microscope appears to have a complex structure containing many different layers. Tests have shown that the implant is composed of a variety of metals and alloys. The implants have highly magnetic qualities and glow fluorescent green when exposed to ultraviolet (UV) light. The implants are usually attached to major nerve centers and unsophisticated medical procedures used in an attempt to remove the implants have often resulted in severe injury or even death of the abductee.

Technicians have theorized that the implants could be a transmitter or receiver of some sort of signal. Other individuals believe that the implants could be some sort of monitoring device that receives signals from the abductee's nervous system. The ultimate goal would be mind control.

A device known as a "stimoceiver," was invented in the late '50s- early '60s by a neuroscientist named Jose "Bob" Delgado. The stimoceiver is a miniature depth electrode which can receive and transmit electronic signals over FM radio waves. By stimulating a correctly-positioned stimoceiver, an outside operator can wield a surprising degree of control over the subject's responses. His experiments on animal and humans clearly demonstrate that the experimenter can electronically induce emotions and behavior. Abductee accounts are replete with stories of bewildering and inappropriate sexual response countered by extremely painful stimuli .

An Abductee Recalls His Experience

"Alien Abductee - Maine

Hello friend I am an abductee here is one of my abductions. It must have been about a year ago but I went to the city to visit my brother. Around 2 am I left his house and walked to a longtime friend who also lived in the city. It is only about 10 min walk. When walking the next thing I can remember was having my eyes closed and hearing this calm, relaxing, soothing almost hypnotizing in a females voice saying. Kevin.. Kevin...its ok Kevin where here to help, it's ok, where no going to harm you, its okay. Were going to make you feel better. Then my eyes opened up and at first there was a blinding light but then it went away and I could see the room and in the room were 2 Grey aliens very tall. I remember that in the room there was 2 different colors in the room. On the top of the wall and at the bottom there was almost like a trim around the room. The top color was purple and the bottom color was blue, it was a thin line of theses colors trimming the room as light, light was coming from them. I asked the alien if they aren't going to harm me then what are they going to do to me. They replied back ''we are going to help you and fix you¨. Now my mouth wasn't moving when talking to them. When I would get scared then I could tell I was using my mouth. The next thing I remember was each Grey on each side of me they then put me up against a cold metal thing and it was moving with each of them on my sides. They brought me to a hall to the left of the white room, the hall was dark cloudy or misty like fog. The hall ways must have been around 40 ft long. Before I got to the next room I could see to the right a huddled circle formation of at least 7 to 8 Greys in a huddled formation. They were tall. There was and exit to another room next to them with a hall way same as the white room. To the left in the room was a smaller group about 5. The room itself was dark round there was a fog or a mist in the room but at time it seemed to go away, also a dim light because I could see across the room. The walls of the room were indented almost like a V shape indent in the wall. The walls were not flat. When entering the room I could smell a chemical like smell something like Bleach or Peroxide or Ammonia. They brought me into center of the room. I remember one of them was so tall he had to like bend a little to look me in the eyes. What's weird at this point was I wasn't really scared and it seemed hard for me to see their face at times. I was still standing up against that thing they put me against in the white room. Then, one of them put a hand on my nose and another one put this small black tube up my nose. The alien Greys had long fingers very tall had a little mouth that moved up and down motion like a fish mouth but nothing was coming out. I remember screaming after they did that. All the time I could hear the voice saying it's going to be ok, we are here to help in a soft calm voice as if they was trying to relax me, but I was scared. The next thing I remember was the thing I was standing up against slammed down making this loud noise it slammed down like a table, so I was now lying down. They then brought me towards the left side of the room so it seemed. I began to get hostile and remember cocking my left leg back and kicking the alien to my lower left, he went against wall and fell down. I clearly remember doing it and watching the Grey fly against the wall and sliding down the other Greys quickly backed off. From then on the next thing I remember was on the side of the road again. Right after I realized what had happened still dazed and confused. There was this cop who drove real slow right next to me and I asked him where a street was and he looked at me, he didn't say a word just pointed and stared with this nasty look. I had lost 3 or 4 hours of time it was nearly 6 in morning when I got to my friend's house. I remember the smells in the craft; they were like bleach, ammonia, or peroxide smell, the greys were at least 7 ft. or 8ft tall, long fingers, slips for mouths and smaller black eyes.I was talking to them telepathic. I use to have a crooked nose but since the alien stuck that small black tube up my nose it's straight again. I remember the colors of inside the craft white, purple and blue. I remember some of there tech, such as a thin 7inch black tube. The thing I was standing against moves on its own and is capable at fast speed slamming down like a table or bed. There are other accounts but this one stick outs in my head the most. Please I need help in this matter ever since it has happened. It has consumed my thinking completely and is all I can think about. It took me almost a year to go outside at night. I was so petrified. Every night before I go to bed I have to stare up in the sky. Centaurs In North America?

This is yet another thing I had never heard of from Phantoms and Monsters which is becoming one of my favorite news letters...
"When you think of a 'Centaur' the vision is usually of a mythological creature from Greek origin. It's head, arms, and chest are those of a human and the rest of its body, including four legs, hindquarters, and a tail is like that of a horse.
I received the following email from M.B. who is Native American:

Hey Lon...this is a second hand account that I heard from my father's trusted friend. I'm sorry I can't provide any more details than what I was told from the witness.

When my father's friend was younger he was a Deputy for the Apache Reservation Police. I believe it happened in the early 1980s, but not sure. One night he was on patrol in his squad car alone on the reservation. He was driving along the deserted highway that passed through town. When he reached the church he saw something moving back and forth along the church, peering into the windows. He stopped the car on the highway, and observed for a while. It was too dark to make out much at first. Then, the dark shape took notice of him and began moving out of the shadows and into the front of the church.
I forget exactly whether he then moved the police car into the parking lot to intercept the man, or if he stopped the car shortly after making a move but either way the headlights helped illuminate what he saw.

Under the orange light of the street lights was a 8 foot tall Demon-Centaur!!! The bottom half was indeed a dark haired horse, while where the neck and head should have been was the upper torso of a man. The man was staring right at him as it strolled by, all 4 hooves clanking on the pavement. His skin was a dark red and it had horns on either side of his head. He said they were like ram horns, curled around on either side of his skull. He was terrified and while the thought of shooting the beast crossed his mind, he reasoned against it. He didn't want to provoke it and have it attack him. It completed crossing the road, and down a steep slope into a farmland field below. Once it reached this open ground, he watched as it started to run away as fast as possible until it disappeared into the darkness and trees beyond.
He was deeply troubled after the encounter and couldn't reason why a demonic creature would be looking into a building as holy as a church. The way he told the story, you couldn't help but believe it to be true and I'm sure that it actually happened.

I've had weird encounters myself, and lots and lots of 2nd hand stories from friends/family on the Navajo and Apache Reservations. I shouldn't talk about many of those though. Being Native American, talking about these weird things can have negative repercussions to those involved. M.B.

I contacted my friend JC Johnson who confirmed that there have been similar sightings in the Four Corners / Navajo Reservation area for some time....

A few years ago, there were Centaur-like sightings in the Cree Nation of Alberta, Canada:

"There is definitely a growing phenomena up here in Alberta, Canada. Specifically, the location is better known as Hobbema, a place comprised of 4 distinct Cree Indian reservations. These sightings I speak of occur on the Samson Cree reserve, in and around the high school area.

When I first heard about it, I was skeptical and proceeded to tease my friends, thinking they were trying to pull to wool over my eyes. They were neither insulted nor deterred from sharing with me that in conjunction with their own personal experiences, there is an actual video tape of this "centaur" creating violent havoc inside the school in a hallway near a main exit. Other stories they shared have to do with sightings at night, where the centaur actually chases them or appears suddenly out of nowhere.

It is far to easy to pass this off as "something in the water," for the Hobbema Cree peoples of this area have experienced generations of trauma. The brief history of this location has everything to do with the discovery of rich deposits of oil in the middle of the 1900's. Once harvested, the residents of this area became incredibly rich. However, due to the lack of a holistic education, and decades of dysfunction throughout the community wrought by the Canadian government and the Churches, the locals were unable to fathom and properly adjust to their fortune to the fullest extent.

This resulted in various forms of chaos throughout the later part of the century, for the oil royalities were distributed to every reserve member, and their children as well when they turned 18. The mortality rate increased over time in this area, most due to suicide and murder. Today, we see an entire generation of youth, that have completely bought into the ghettoization of their communities and are largely atheist.

In regards to the phenomena of the centaur sightings, it is known throughout the remaining Spiritual community of this area that these "beings" are making themselves known because in the eyes of the youth, there is nothing to believe in anymore. Sightings as such are creating panic and fear, and the phenomena has therefore become demonized by word of mouth."

Did You Know There Was An Emperor Of The US?

"In 1859, an unknown, young and failing San Franciscan businessman named Joshua Abraham Norton attempted to corner the market on rice after hearing of a famine in China. He lost everything he owned when a large shipment of Peruvian rice arrived in port unexpectedly, making his investments worthless overnight. This apparently unbalanced him enough that he declared himself Emperor of the United States (he later would add “and Protector of Mexico”) and for the next 20 years ‘til his death, he wandered the streets in full regalia, inspecting his domain. In January 1880 he collapsed on a street corner and died. Nearly 30,000 marched in homage to bury him and writers such as Mark Twain and Robert Louis Stevenson would eulogize his memory.

Before then he wrote a large number of proclamations, all of which were duly published in the state’s newspapers. In 1869 for instance he, “being desirous of allaying the dissensions of party strife now existing within our realm,” abolished both the Republican and Democratic Parties. Another edict was instructions for the countries of the world to form a “League of Nations.” Perhaps his most famous decree was an order directing the San Francisco Board of Supervisors to begin construction of a suspension bridge across the bay as well as a tunnel, both of which were actually completed 50 and 80 years (respectively) after his death (no thanks to Norton).

Much beloved by his fellow citizens, Norton I paraded frequently through the streets in elaborate blue uniforms with gold epaulets given to him by officers of the nearby Presidio with a beaver hat decorated with peacock feathers. Although routinely broke he ate at the best cafes in town; these restaurateurs then added brass plates above their doors proclaiming “By Appointment to His Imperial Majesty Norton I of The United States.” The brass plaques were much sought after and a huge boost to trade.

One police officer in 1867 arrested Norton and tried to have him committed but this led to a number of blistering editorials in the newspapers and led to the police chief ordering him released and issuing him a formal apology.
Norton then magnanimously granted an “imperial pardon” to the young police officer and as a result, all police officers in San Francisco thereafter would salute him in passing.

The 1870 U.S. Census records list Joshua Norton as 50 years of age and his occupation is given as “Emperor.” Norton I would also issue his own money to pay certain debts, typically ranging from 50 cents to $10 and these notes are now highly coveted collectors’ items. He also wrote numerous letters to the widowed Queen Victoria (none were ever answered) proposing marriage.

When he collapsed on the street and died in 1880 the San Francisco Chronicle published his obituary on its front page under the headline “Le Roi est Mort” (The King is Dead!) and sadly reported, “In the darkness of a moonless night and under a dripping rain, Norton I, by the Grace of God Emperor of the United States and Protector of Mexico, departed this life.” Most city newspapers likewise reported the news on the front pages in banner headlines. - rriverjournal.com"

"If we can control gravity with a device, then we can actually control time, as well, and that could lead to a machine," he said. :DNA Test Fails to Solve D.B. Cooper Mystery

OLYMPIA, Wash. -- DNA testing has failed to link a new suspect in the D.B. Cooper hijacking to a necktie that he left behind on the plane in 1971, the FBI said Monday.

Special Agent Fred Gutt cautioned that the test does not necessarily rule out the deceased man because investigators do not know whether DNA on the tie is that of the hijacker. Gutt said there are three different DNA samples on the necktie and it's not clear where the hijacker got it.

There are some questions about the tie itself: Was it a used tie, a borrowed tie?" Gutt said.

Investigators compared the DNA on the tie to the DNA of someone in the new suspect's family, Gutt said. A woman in Oklahoma recently came forward to say that she believes her uncle, Lynn Doyle Cooper, was the hijacker -- which she based largely on memories from when she was 8 years old.

Gutt said the FBI had an inconclusive round of fingerprint testing on a guitar strap and that investigators are now working with family members to identify other items that could be tested further for fingerprints.

Federal investigators have checked hundreds of leads since the man dubbed "D.B. Cooper" parachuted from a flight with $200,000 dollars in ransom in 1971."

Man Hears His Eyes Roll

Stephen Mabbutt, 57, from Charlton, near Banbury, could also hear his own heart beating.

Mr Mabbutt first experienced symptoms six years ago, when he felt a dull ache in the side of his head.

GPs treated him with nasal sprays and antibiotics, but his hearing deteriorated. Mr Mabbutt was eventually diagnosed with an unusual ear condition in which sounds inside the body are heard very loudly. The condition meant that the noise from chewing food became deafening.

His symptoms worsened to thMr Mabbutt told the BBC: "When I raised my voice I could hear it reverberating in my head and the vibrations made my vision vibrate.

"Eventually I could hear my heart beating and my eyes moving in their sockets. It was really distracting." e extent where loud noises caused
Mr Mabbutt was referred to Martin Burton, a surgeon from the Oxford Radcliffe Hospital who helped establish the Cochrane Ear, Nose and Throat Disorders Group. A CT scan found perforations inside the semicircular canals inside Mr Mabbutt's ear.

He was diagnosed with superior canal dehiscence syndrome (SCDS), a rare condition discovered by American surgeon Lloyd B Minor in 1995, which is thought to only effect one in 500,000 a year in Britain.

The operation to cure the problem involved a 5cm (2in) incision behind the ear, making a channel through the bone to find the "balance organ" and using the patient's own bone to create a seal around the defect, the BBC said.

Mr. J. P. Wentling, formerly of Pennsylvania, but now at St. Anthony Park, Minnesota, had a disappointing experience with a squonk near Mont Alto. Wentling who one fine day at the turn of the century hid near its home after observing it and laying a trap for it, he snatched it up into his bag. As he was returning to the local village to show his friends what he had found in the woods, he noticed the leather bag he was carrying dripping from several cracks in the bottom making it noticeably lighter and of a strange shape. Former Devul Worshipper Claims The Birth Of A Snake

A police officer’s wife has claimed to have given birth to a seven-headed snake last week Thursday.

"Patience Tsabedze (27), a self-confessed former devil worshipper says she ‘gave birth’ to the large serpent after experiencing labour pains, yet she was not pregnant, on the evening of Thursday, July 7, 2011.

According to her, the labour pains were so severe that she decided to go to toilet and ‘push out’ whatever was troubling her.

She says the seven-headed snake then came out and upon seeing it at the base of the toilet, she screamed for help.
Her husband, Constable Mfanzile Malaza, rushed to the toilet to see what was happening and indeed saw the snake.

"He tried to kill it using a log but as he fought it, it hid inside the water and it was flushed away," she said during an interview at the government flat she shares with her cop husband.

The husband, when called at his workplace yesterday, also confirmed the incident and said he was shocked.

"It was my first time seeing such a snake, a seven-headed one with glittering eyes. I tried to kill it but it hid inside the toilet so we decided to flush it," he said.

"IT consultant shot himself after clairvoyant gave his suicide plans her blessing and 'invited him back from the afterlife for a cup of tea'

An IT consultant killed himself after a fortune teller gave her 'blessing' to his suicide plan - and told him to come back in the afterlife for a cup of tea, his son said yesterday.

Terence Day, 60, had spiralled into depression after struggling to find work and shot himself in the head just two weeks after seeing psychic Jane Stack.

During the session, he revealed he had planned his suicide and Mrs Stack told him: 'I would understand why you would do that,' an inquest heard.

Mr Day's son, Duncan, said outside the hearing that a CD recording of the session revealed Mrs Stack then said: 'You go with my blessing then,' and added, 'If you do die, come back and have a cup of tea and a chat with me.'

The inquest, in Truro, Cornwall, was told that she did nothing to prevent his death or report his intentions to his family or the authorities.

Mrs Stack, who uses the name Elizabeth English for her work, was subjected to a seven-month police inquiry into whether she had assisted his suicide, but was cleared of any criminal wrongdoing.

But his 35-year-old son criticised Mrs Stack for failing to prevent his father’s death. He said: 'She gave my father her blessing to kill himself.
'At one point in the recording, I heard her say, “If you do die, come back and have a cup of tea and a chat with me.”

'I rang her the day I found out about the CD and she was very unapologetic. She was cold. He went to her for reassurance and she gave him the wrong type.

'She was in a position of trust – people go to her when they are down for guidance – it's not a chance for her to just say what they want to hear.

'She should have raised the alarm. If I'd have known I could have spoken to my dad and perhaps talked him round. The outcome could have been very different.'
The inquest heard how Mr Day, of Bradley Stoke, Bristol, was depressed after struggling to find work for over two years.

Desperate for advice, he searched the internet for clairvoyants and arranged a meeting with Mrs Stack.

After the reading, Mr Day phoned police and told them he was going to take his life. When they responded, officers were greeted with an answerphone message saying they would have to speak to a clairvoyant if they wanted to contact him.

Mr Day’s body was found in a field in Penzance, Cornwall, on July 2 last year, opposite a bungalow he had rented for a week-long break.

During a heated exchange with his son during the hour-long inquest, Mrs Stack said:
‘I was thinking that this is his free will. I had to show acceptance.’

She said her training as a former Samaritan instructed her not to break confidences and added her role was akin to that of a ‘magician’ who made people ‘happy and upbeat’.

His son said: ‘So when someone tells you they’re going to kill themselves, you just do nothing.’ She replied: ‘I’m an entertainer.’

Detective Constable Eavan Clarke told the hearing: ‘The CD initially changed the complexion of the investigation – if it was an assisted suicide.’

But inquiries found there was no evidence of a third-party involvement.

Entire City Appears From Nowhere?

In China an interesting experience puzzles all..

Residents in a Chinese city have been stunned after a giant mirage of a 'ghost city' towered across the skyline.

The apparition appeared earlier this month after heavy rainfall and humid conditions along the Xin'an River in Huanshan City in East China.

Tall buildings, mountains and trees appeared to rise up through the ghostly mist that had descended over the river at dusk. There is usually nothing buy sky across the horizon.

"Amazed residents recorded the footage with some even suggesting that it could have been a 'vortex' to a lost civilisation.

British ufologist Nick Redfern discussed his research into the Men in Black (MIB) phenomenon, in which he looked at numerous cases from the start of UFO sightings to the present day.

The first report of Men in Black was associated with Albert Bender, who was studying UFOs in the early 1950s and formed a popular group called the International Flying Saucer Bureau. But then, he suddenly shut the organization down after he was visited by three men wearing black suits who told him that he was getting too close to the truth, and if he knew what was good for him, he'd leave the subject alone.

Later, researcher Gray Barker popularized Bender's tale, and implied that the Men in Black were government agents, Redfern detailed.
In many of the MIB accounts, witnesses describe the visitors as having somewhat odd appearances and behavior, including bulging eyes, being very short, sometimes lacking in emotion, and suddenly disappearing. Their goal always seems to be intimidation, which is typically accomplished with veiled threats, said Redfern, who added that he found it curious that people invariably allowed these strangers into their homes, which indicates the MIBs might employ a kind of hypnosis.

Redfern has concluded there may be more than one group behind the MIB phenomenon. For instance, there is documented evidence that government agents have visited people who've reported UFO sightings, yet some of the paranormal aspects to MIB visitations suggest there may also be alien/hybrids making their own visits to determine how much people know about them.

Joshua P. Warren proposed an interesting theory to Redfern-- that MIBs may actually be time travelers. The reason they wear the black suits is because this look will fit in in many time periods, and this might also explain why the cars they drive are sometimes out of date, Warren said.

The radio worked well for many years and I was very happy with it until one morning. I can't remember the exact program I was listening to but it was something about demons and devils, and the supposed coming of the Antichrist. I cannot tell you the terror I experienced after I fell asleep and woke up to this!

I unplugged the radio that night and moved it immediately to the garage. I had forgotten
all about it until the other day when I was unpacking some old boxes and found it again. It has been unplugged and without batteries for at least a year. Imagine my surprise when I plugged it back in and it still has 666 on the display? I have left the radio plugged in for about a week and ever since this radio has come on at odd times with static but it also will work fine tuning stations except for the display."

Over the last few decades, miners in South Africa have been digging up mysterious metal spheres. Origin unknown, these spheres measure approximately an inch or so in diameter, and some are etched with three parallel grooves running around the equator. Two types of spheres have been found: one is composed of a solid bluish metal with flecks of white; the other is hollowed out and filled with a spongy white substance. The kicker is that the rock in which they where found is Precambrian - and dated to 2.8 billion years old! Who made them and for what purpose is unknown.

Retired Policeman Reports Triangle UFO and Alien Sighting

Recently reported:"The sighting report included here occurred in Missouri, on April 5, 2011. The report was submitted via phone to MUFON assistant State Director, Margie Kay.

At 3:15 AM, the witness' German Shepherd came to rouse him from sleep. The reliable watchdog was incessantly barking at something in the backyard.

Urging his master to come to the door, the policeman began to walk through the house to the back door. In the kitchen, he was surprised to see a blue-white light glowing through the window in the door.

The policeman had never seen lights like those coming from outside, and was shocked that he heard absolutely nothing.

Though having faced danger many times during his career, something about this occurrence made his feel very uneasy. He proceeded to get his gun from the bedroom.

Lights Suddenly Blink Out

Now loaded for trouble, he went back to the kitchen and opened the back door, not knowing what waited for him. As he looked up, the lights suddenly went out completely.

As he looked around the yard and then into the sky, he saw the source of the lights, a dull, black triangle UFO.

The lights were now out, but he could still estimate the size of the UFO as the width of his backyard - about 50 feet.

He was now looking at the most amazing thing - a silent, triangular-shaped UFO just sitting still in the sky above his back yard.

Sudden Sound from the Back Fence

Suddenly, he heard a sound coming the back fence.

He remembered his flashlight in a drawer in the kitchen, and quickly went to fetch it. As he did, he heard a sound coming from the hallway behind him - kind of a "clicking" sound.

He aimed his flashlight in the direction of the sound, but saw nothing. He then proceeded back to the yard, and focused his flashlight toward the direction of the original sound.

He was totally in shock of the sight before him - a very strange, short (approximately 4' tall), gray, humanoid-looking creature with big eyes standing there looking at him.

This unbelievable sight lasted only a second or two, then it just disappeared. He looked up into the sky - the triangle craft was also gone.

The policeman was baffled by what he had seen. It had frozen him in fear, and he also was puzzled by his dog. The Shepherd would not go outside, when normally he would at the drop of a hat.

Although he had received training from the FBI, in addition to his other training, nothing could have prepared him for what occurred on this particular night.

Now, What to Do?

His natural inclination was to call 911, but after picking up the phone, he changed his mind. Knowing everyone at the local station, he would be ridiculed, they would think he had lost his mind.

Until his anonymous report to MUFON, he had kept many things to himself. He never woke his sleeping wife, and never told her what he had seen that night.

He thought the entire ordeal had lasted about 15 minutes, but in fact, he was gone from his bed for about an hour and 30 minutes. His face was also red, like sunburn.

Although he cannot understand why these things occurred, he knows exactly what he saw."

"The filming for William Shatner's "Weird or What?" was indeed weird. It took place in an old, very unusual New Orleans home, so the backdrop was.....let's call it "eccentric." Also, the house's front door is about 30 feet from a busy N.O. street, so cars, motorcycles, big trucks, and occasional airplanes tended to drown out whatever I was saying. I had to go over most points 3, 4, 5 times in the hope of getting coverage without background noise. We filmed for over three hours, so I have to assume they got enough to fill in my part of a 20 minute segment.

Several of you contacted me to offer messages to Mr. Shatner, so I should have made clear in the last Byte that I wouldn't meet him. We filmed the interview footage Thursday, an editor will eventually edit that down to what they want to use for the episode, a script will be written to fit the footage, and then Shatner will come in and film the small riffs he does between the major segments. All of this will consume several months. The people there told me it would air sometime this fall."

Mary Ann is a nurse in North Georgia.Her home had been untouched by a recent tornado but she had been troubled by the plight of some neighbors and found it hard to sleep.Sunday night,however she fell asleep early.She said "I don't actually know if it was a dream or really happened but it seemed to really be Todd."

Todd quit his job as a stock broker the day after 911.Hr lost his High School sweetheart Jenny, in the strike of the Towers.He was killed in Iraq two years later.Mary Ann was heart-broken.

There are many ancient astronomers from many cultures all around the world, many of whom have their name lost over the ages. For example, we do not know who or when the planets were recognized as being different from stars. In some sense, most ancient people were 'astronomers' since all lived under non-light-polluted dark skies and everyone wonders what is up there. The names of the Egyptian, Mayan, and Chaldean astronomers are all lost, even if we know of some of their results

The history of astronomy is a very long one and astronomy has been pursued by all cultures, so there is a very wide range of tools. Before the discovery of the telescope, the only observing devices that people could use was the human eye, perhaps aided by any of a variety of sighting devices. Thus, the Chinese used armillary spheres, Tycho Brahe (Danish late 1500's) used long sighting 'tubes', neolithic farmers made Stonehenge to point to midsummer sunrise, and Ptolemy noted planet positions with respect to stars. After the discovery of the telescope, there was a steady push to larger-and-larger telescopes.

Stonehenge in England is of course best known but many exist world wide.

Before the invention of the telescope, modern mathematics, modern physics, and modern ways of science, ancient civilizations were still able to discover an amazing amount of information about astronomy. All the planets in the solar system except for Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto were known to ancients. Ancient Egyptians were able to figure out how long a year was based upon the movements of the sun and the flooding of the Nile River. Greeks were able to estimate the diameter of Earth to within 32 km (20 miles) long before Europeans "knew" the Earth was flat. This page contains this and much more information on ancient astronomy.

Like today, there were always those who were interested in just knowing about things for the interest in simply knowing. However, that didn't get ancient civilizations very far, so there had to be a reason for people to study astronomy.

The main one was to try to understand what was going on in order to try to predict what would happen. Often times, ancient astronomers were priests, who were kept alive only as long as they correctly predicted events. Astronomical bodies, such as the sun, moon, and planets, were often seen as gods and goddesses. Predicting planetary positions were a way of predicting the will of the gods, and could then foretell events such as whether or not there would be a good harvest.

Byers’ told WNBC that he was about 15 to 20 feet away from the creature when he captured a five-second video.

Still a fascinating Monument, English are making a laser survey at Stonehenge.A recent report says "This new survey will capture a lot more information on the subtleties of the monument and its surrounding landscape," said Paul Bryan, head of geospatial surveys at English Heritage.

Stonehenge is being scanned using modern laser technology to search for hidden clues about how and why it was built.

All visible faces of the standing and fallen stones, many of which are obscured by lichen, will be surveyed.

This picture was taken by 24-year-old Tom Pickles on Lake Windermere in England on February 11, 2011 while on a work-sponsored kayaking trip. He and his friend Sarah Harrington both saw the creature as it swam by, and Pickles snapped the photo with his cell phone. They watched it for about 20 seconds and noted that what they saw was about as big as three car lengths. Until he realized its size, he thought it was a dog swimming by, "then saw it was much bigger and moving really quickly at about 10 mph," Pickles told reporters. "Each hump was moving in a rippling motion and it was swimming fast. Its skin was like a seal's but its shape was completely abnormal; it's not like any animal I've ever seen before."

The creature has been seen in Lake Windermere about seven times before, and it has been given the nickname Bownessie and is sometimes referred to as "England's Loch Ness Monster." The Loch Ness Monster is said to inhabit Loch Ness in Scotland.

Makes One Wonder

Although a believer, when working with psychiatric patients,I never discussed the paranormal.A few of the staff knew of my interest.
One nurse asked me to consult with the staff to develop a treatment plan with a psychotic patient on the locked ward.They were at a loss she said as to what to do with him.

Currently, he was in restraints in a seclusion room.(patients in restraints are placed in locked rooms for their protection from the others on the unit.)We talked for a while.He recounted his belief of being abducted by aliens.He felt the Aliens had implanted a worm in his brain which talked to him and called him "bad" names like "coward" and "loser."They told him he was not suitable for them until he became more assertive"

We talked more about being assertive and a little about what he was doing and thinking before the"abduction"as well as whether the voices ever told him to hurt or kill himself or another.("No.")

He said the aliens did not like him to be here and sis not want him"tied up"However they did want him to take his meds.He said they told him to tell me he needed to be in a room that was not green,"It is not good for my studies" yellow or green would be better, he said.

He had assulted two Police officers and the admitting staff so had been only in this room and in and out of restraints (with injections of meds which were refused by mouth.)He did not know the regular rooms were yellow.
He seemed calmer and mostly lucid during our session. He agreed to take his meds orally from now on and not to hit,but to tell staff if he was getting"upset"He also seemed to understand we needed to trust him with these things so he would have to stay in the room.

That afternoon I met with the sraff.They recalled that the night before and several times that morning he saud the aliens had visited and they did not want him tied up...I discussed not talking about the content of his delusions but try to identify the underlying feeling and speak to that in a way that did not require a response.We agreed to take him out on the ward a few times at least twice a shift,offer his meds by mouth in a matter of fact way.and if all went well move him out of seclusion to a yellow room the next day after the morning team conference. We were all satisfied.

The next morning I filled the Docs and Social Workers in on the plan.(In case they did not read the notes.) The nurses reported he took his meds and went foe walks without incident.He had told the staff the aliens had visited and told him he was being moved yo a yellow room and he would be untied in the morning.

After the meeting the team makes rounds.When we got to his room,he was out of the locked restraints, dressed in his street clothes,and excited to move to his yellow room...When asked how he got his clothes and out of restraints, he said "The Aliens did it....

No one from the staff ever acknowledged that they unlocked his restraints or clothing...

Enduring Love

Mr. and Mrs. S were residents of the Nursing Care Unit in a Retirement Center in Hawaii.They had lined there several years and both were in their middle 80's.

Apparently their family were all on the Mainland as no one had visited them in several years.The administrator remembered that about two years previously they had receieved two visits from a member of The Unitarian Church which they had attended for many years.Those were the only visitors anyone knew of for the past five years since the couple moved from their apartment down to the Unit.
They were the only couple on the Nursing Unit and a favorite of rhe staff.The two were very close and seldom talked about their past.

Mr.S had a severe stroke early one morning and died within hours.All arrangements had been previously made, leaving Mrs S no details to have to deal with in her devastated grieving.Only the staff and other residents joined the Minister for the Memorial Service.

As is often true in such situations, within a few months of her husband"s death,Mrs.S became critically ill.

A temporary nurse "new" to the staff was the night Charge nurse who along with a female and male LPN staff "regulars" comprised ths Night Shift staff..The nurse was preparing IV fluids and meds to be administered to Mrs.S when the elderly gentleman who had been at her bedside came into the hall amd said "That will not be necessary.We are leaving now."

"What do you mean?"said the nurse."She is a very sick woman." as she started toward the room.
The man disapeared.

Al , one of the LPN's had entered the hall from another room where he had been working.He said "I just saw Mr.and Mrs.S in the hall with a bright light around them and they vanished!"

When they entered Mrs.S's room they found she had died. No one else had seen the man at her bedside that night.

We considered it a wonderful love story.The temp RN however never worked there again.

"...The best way to agitate a demon, Thomas says, is to pray over the subject; the person's face, he explains, will begin to distort as the demon manifests itself, something that the filmmakers utilized for a sequence in "The Rite."

"There is a point when Anthony Hopkins, you see his head look very unnatural in the way it is turning," Thomas said. "That's very normal. When you pray you hurt the demon, and the demon oftentimes will manifest itself in a very serpentine way."

Thomas recalled an occasion when he was visited by a young Venezuelan woman who had been involved in palm readings for several years. "I was beginning to do some deliverance prayers. Within a few minutes she began to tremor and her facial countenance began to change. You saw a snake. She began sticking her tongue out like a snake and hissing and rolling her eyes. She coiled herself up.

"Her mother and father began to restrain her a bit. I went to get the Eucharist. The woman almost jumped out the window [at the sight of the Eucharist]. Her parents held her down. One minute you could see the demon, the next minute it was her. She kind of came back. I said, 'Can you take the Eucharist?' She said, 'I'm not sure, but I'll try.' As I offered it to her, she resisted. I said, 'Just open your mouth.' All I had to wash it down was holy water."

If Thomas determines the person has a demonic attachment, he has a number of methods to free him or her before resorting to an exorcism. "You never try that first," Thomas says. "You use other means of protection — sacraments, prayer, the Eucharist. What you want the person to do is say [the demon is] not welcome, it is not wanted, so go away. The person cooperates by staying close to God through prayer, through the sacraments."

I have been incapicated.No ir is not another bout with Cancer, that is still OK. I have been dealing with the depression associated with poverty for several years that is still a matter of concern but not different nor is lonlieness but the crowning blow was the loss of my computer.It was sick at Christmas but finally gave it's life for completing my shopping and mailing.I have been mourning it's loss and dealing with no access since.Now by the coming week will probably be back to post three times a week..Yeah!

On February 7, 2009 my Mom passed away of terminal cancer. Prior to her death, we had talked about the afterlife. I asked her if she could send me a sign after she was gone to let me know that she was ok. She said that she would if she could.

That night I went to bed after crying myself to sleep and at about 4 a.m. I was lying there thinking about our conversation when all of the sudden a doll that played the song "Rockin Around the Christmas Tree" went off in my little girl's room all by itself.

There was nothing near it and no way it could have gone off. My daughter had just gotten it for Christmas. And now a year later it hasn't happened again. Christmas was my Mom's favorite holiday. I am sure that it was her. Or is it just a coincidence? - Luetta

I am sure that many of you have heard the thought that the famed star proclaiming the Birth Of Jesus may have been an undetected UFO.Here is an expert with another yake on it.

PHANTOM CHRISTMAS LIGHTS

"In the early morning hours of December 6, 2009 I saw something very strange. I wake up a lot throughout the night because I have a toddler to check on, and I was also six months pregnant and needed to use the restroom frequently.

That night I initially awoke because there was a lot of light coming in from the windows at the back of the house. As soon as I realized I was awake, I went to the nearest window and looked outside to see why it was so bright outside.

About 400 yards behind my house is a very large hill that juts up steeply out of the surrounding flat landscape. We live in the Nevada desert, so even though it is a long distance, there isn't much to obstruct my view. Halfway up the hill is a single house. It is the only house for several hundred yards around it. At the foot of the hill is a retaining wall, and as I gazed out my window during the wee hours of the morning, it looked as though there was a group of people busily putting up gold Christmas lights along the wall. I thought they were a little strange to be putting Christmas lights up in the middle of the night, but then I reasoned that maybe they worked nights or something and were used to the odd hours.

I left the window, checked on my toddler, then went to the restroom. After 5 to 10 minutes, I came back to the window and watched them work some more. They were quite a distance away and I couldn't see a lot of details, but it appeared that they were making quick progress and I watched them for several more minutes, puzzling a little that someone must be very dedicated to Christmas to put lights up so late.

Eventually, I went back to bed, putting a sleeping mask on to block out the light streaming in from the window. It didn't take long before I fell back to sleep.

The next morning I immediately looked out the window to see how the project finished. From my vantage point, in the light of day, I couldn't see anything. I decided maybe it was too far away to see lights that had been hung but weren't actually lit, so I decided I should wait for nightfall when the lights would be lit again.

Well, you probably guessed the rest. I checked for several nights and never did see the lights come back on. After four days, I walked to the back edge of my property and stood against my own rear wall to get the best view possible. It became clear that there were no lights at all hung on the retaining wall. The wall was entirely bare with absolutely no decoration.
I don't know what I saw that night; it was pretty far away. From that distance I can only be certain that my eyes assumed I was looking at a group of people putting up Christmas lights. And I am absolutely positive that I was completely wide awake when I saw it." - 2charming

CHRISTMAS HELL HOUND

"There's a strange road I have to take to get back home. There are always weird shadows and other unexplained things that seem to enchant the roadway. One night I believe whatever it is that haunts this stretch of pavement may have come home with me.

I was driving home alone, my car filled with Christmas presents, when I began to get near the "haunted" area of road. As I made a right onto the road, a large, shadowy figure darted in front of my car. I slammed on the brakes and the truck behind me nearly crashed into me. Shaking, I gingerly placed my foot back on the pedal and continued down the road.

As I came to a bend in the road, it slowly began to climb and my headlights washed over a strange, shadowy creature crouched on the double-lines. It stared at me with orange-yellow eyes, and then it bolted to the right. Again I slammed on my brakes and ignored the annoyed honk behind me as I watched the creature, which looked like an enormous black dog, continue to stare at me as it ran across the road and up and over a high fence (that no normal dog could clear). Scared out of my mind, I hurried home.

Sunday night: I was watching TV in my family room with my daughter, who was curled up asleep on the opposite couch. Out of the corner of my eye I saw waves of energy (that's the only way to describe it) seem to generate over the floor. Just black waves. Then it felt like someone punched the right side of my skull so hard that I was seeing stars! My head throbbed and I fell to the floor, waking up my daughter.

Clearly alarmed, she asked what was wrong and I said that it felt like someone punched me, but we were the only two home! Ever since then I've been getting these horrible migraines and feel as if I'm hallucinating. I'd experimented with acid while in college and that's exactly how these hallucinations seem. But I have no history of any kind of mental disease and I have never hallucinated in my life!

Jim shared his experience from About Paranoemal in the Christmas Ghost listings presented by S Wagner.

"These events occurred in Toronto, Ontario in December, 2009. I had just started seeing a new girl and she invited me over for dinner a few days before Christmas. It was my first time visiting her apartment, which she shared with a roommate who had already left to go home for the holidays.

After dinner, we went out to her covered porch for a smoke. As soon as I went into the room, I was drawn to a curious, faded portrait hanging on the wall. The portrait showed a woman in her late 20s or early 30s, and she seemed have a strange sentience in her stare. I asked the girl about it, and she said it was a picture of her great-great-aunt, taken in 1907. She took the picture off the wall and showed me the date scrawled on the back of the frame.

Later, we were in her room watching television and I took a bathroom break. The bathroom was adjacent to her room, and it had old plumbing - her sink had dual faucets for hot and cold water. I washed my hands in cold water when I was finished. I am 100 percent certain of it, and I cannot explain what happened next.

After I rejoined the girl, we were talking when all of a sudden, the sound of running water rose from the adjacent bathroom. She looked at me and said, "You left the water running."

"No, I didn't," I told her. "I'm sure I turned if off." And I was. I washed my hands in cold water and I certainly wouldn't leave someone's bathroom without turning off the faucet.

When I got up to check the bathroom, sure enough, the water was running. Thinking I somehow must have left the water running, I went to turn off the cold water tap on the dual faucets... but it was already locked in place! It wasn't turned on! The hot water was running. I didn't touch the hot water tap when I was in there not two minutes earlier. I am 100 percent certain of it.

Suddenly, I felt an extremely cold chill. The hairs on the back of my neck were standing up, but it's probably just because I got so suddenly spooked knowing some unseen force had turned the tap on. The girl and I talked about it afterward, and it all came back to the strange picture of her great-great-aunt hanging in the covered porch. She said she had the picture since she was very young, and it had always transfixed her.

She said this wasn't the first time strange things like that had happened - the lights turned themselves on and off, and the television did, too - and that it always seemed to be triggered by a male presence in the house. I asked why. She said she'd see what she could find out about her great-great-aunt.

It turns out her great-great-aunt had committed suicide when her husband left her for another woman. All I know is that the hot water tap turned itself on. - Jim T."

Angels

Author Lorna Byrne, discussed on her lifelong contact with angels. Byrne, who claims to have been interacting with the entities for as long as she could remember, quipped that she has seen angels "from the moment I opened my eyes."
Over the course of her life, she said, these beings have facilitated contact with her deceased brother as well as foretold who her husband would be and how their relationship would progress. Based on her experience and ability to see the entities.

She believes that every person, regardless of religion or morality, has a guardian angel. In fact, they are so pervasive, Byrne said she would be shocked if she saw someone "without the light of a guardian angel."

On why it appears that guardian angels help some people and not others, Byrne explained that they are only allowed a limited amount of intervention. Ultimately, she said, it is up to humans whether or not they will listen to their guardian angel. "We're the ones that have the power, you have to remember," she observed, "we're the ones who have the power to go right when, deep down inside of us, we know we should go left." She stressed that learning to recognize these messages from our guardian angels, no matter how subtle, could have a profound impact on not only ourselves, but the world at large. "If we'd only listen a little bit more and respond," Byrne mused, "life would be much easier. I know we wouldn't be having war at all."

Snakes On A Plane for Real

"A passenger was arrested after security officials discovered he had carried snakes, birds and a squirrel in hand luggage on a long-haul flight.

In a thankfully less-dramatic version of the 2006 thriller film Snakes On A Plane, fellow passengers were blissfully unaware of the man's box full of pets.

However, police arrested the suspect at Abu Dhabi International Airport after the Etihad Airways flight from Jakarta, Indonesia, when the animals were found with him.

The snakes were identified by an expert as being non-venomous reticulated and blood pythons.

It was unclear how he managed to get the animals past security in Indonesia.

Khamis al Marar, the acting director general of security affairs and ports in Abu Dhabi, stressed that carrying animals on board is strictly prohibited.

In this case, other passengers' safety was at risk, he said.

He added that licensed animals had to travel in specially designed boxes, which should be stored in the aircraft's hold.

The unidentified passenger was travelling on Etihad Airlines flight EY471.

A spokesman said: 'Etihad can confirm a passenger arriving on EY471 from Jakarta on December 3 was detained at Abu Dhabi International Airport, after airport officials located a bag containing live animals on the passenger.

'The matter has been investigated by airport and police authorities and Etihad has co-operated fully on this issue.'

Speaking about how the passenger was able get through security screening, she added: 'This is a matter for airport authorities in Jakarta.

'The airline is currently working with the authorities on their investigation.

'Etihad is increasing its own random hand luggage screening as a result of this incident.'

Last year a Qantas flight was grounded after four pythons being carried in the hold escaped in flight between Alice Springs and Melbourne."By James White

CHRISTMAS GHOST'S CARESS

Tis the Season for Christmas Spirits.Here is an experience recently reported.

"It was Christmas time of 1995 or '96 at my aunt's house on a reservation in North Dakota. Some of my family was in the living room watching television, the kids were playing in the rooms or sleeping, and my uncle, aunt and I were sitting at the table putting a puzzle together. My cousin, who worked at a casino, would come home around midnight or 1 a.m.

This night, as she pulled up and was walking toward the house, she looked in the window and saw me sitting at the table, my uncle sitting across from me and someone standing to the left of me and someone standing in the corner, so she continued to walk in the house thinking nothing of it. When she got in she said her hellos, put her stuff away and came and joined us at the table.

As we were sitting there talking, she looked at me and asked who was standing next to me a few minutes ago and who was in the corner. I told her no one and she said, "Yeah, there was someone standing next to you. It looked like your mom and she was playing with your hair." (I have long hair, which I used to wear down all the time.) She said this person was running her hand on my hair, like a mother does to a child.
rs up and down that someone was standing over me rubbing my head and watching me put the puzzle together with my aunt and uncle, and that there was another person standing behind this person. We got around to thinking it was probably her mom she saw. (She passed away on her birthday a week before Christmas back in 1992.)

In my family we consider our aunts and uncles to be just like our moms and dads. After thinking that it could have been her, it didn't scare me so much. However, we couldn't figure out who the person was standing in the corner. And always around Christmas time something strange always happens... and we just think it's her visiting us. "- V. Page

Recently,Dr. Bradley Nelson discussed how people carry trapped emotions that affect their well being.
