On this date in 1924, pioneering astronomer Edwin Hubble announced the existence of other galaxies. On December 30, 1982 a blue moon (second full moon within a month) occurred along with a lunar eclipse. This rare combination will also take place this Thursday night, on New Year's Eve.

MUFON investigator Chuck Zukowski talked about recent cattle mutilation cases in Colorado. He noted there were black triangle UFO sightings over Colorado Springs, on the same night in March 2009 that cattle were found with inexplicable mutilations some 100 miles away.
