If you follow the series on History channel you may know the presenter recently on Coast to Coast AM.

"Renowned investigative journalist and author, Philip Coppens, discussed Earth mysteries such as the Nazca lines and evidence for the existence of ancient visitation of astronauts from outer space. "Our ancestors definitely believed that we were not alone," Coppens declared, citing numerous cultures where their writings and traditions state that the 'gods' lived among them. He speculated that part of the reason why it is not better known that our ancestors were influenced by off-world beings is because their descendants were so poorly treated by Western culture that they became reticent to share this secret knowledge.

Ahhh, the great pyramid, the best proof we have that YES, aliens have been here. Keep in mind that most cultures of the world were living in mud or stone structures, had no plumbing, written language, schooling, or medicine. Whitney Strieber On Aliens And Hybrids

Could there be alien-human hybrids walking among us who have very different powers of mind and body? On Coast To Coast AM, Whitley Strieber shared some of his experiences that suggest that this might actually be true. In his new novel, Hybrids, he explores the promise and danger of this possibility.

He referred to his latest book as another one of his "true fiction" efforts, which "contains elements that I think are factual but I don't have enough information to prove."

"We're going to see a leap in technology in the next 5 years, with methods to compress memory, so that machine's capacities will be denser than the human brain, he reported. In his new book, he considers these advances, along with "alien technology" to create super soldiers that are smarter than we are-- programmable biological robots.

Real alien hybrids may have been created by the 'Visitors' using genetic methods similar to what Earth scientists currently use, he suggested. A number of people wrote to Strieber expressing their belief that they are hybrids. Interestingly, he noted that UFO hacker Gary McKinnon said he saw lists of officers who were on off-planet 'space fleets.' Perhaps people are being altered genetically to endure long flights, Whitley conjectured. He also recounted some of 'Visitor' experiences that took place at his former cabin in a secluded area in upstate New York."

More About Ancient Aliens

Researcher and publisher Giorgio Tsoukalos discussed the ancient astronaut theory and presented evidence which" he believes may prove extraterrestrials visited our planet in the distant past. According to Tsoukalos, the gods and heavenly beings mentioned in ancient religious texts and traditions were likely alien travelers. Further, stories of 'dragon snakes' found in certain early cultures may refer to aerial vehicles piloted by these ETs, as "the gods, or teachers from the sky, actually walked out of the belly of those flying serpents," he explained. The flying turtle carvings of Guatemala also seem to point to alien interaction with our ancient ancestors, Tsoukalos added.

The ET visitors tampered with early man's DNA to create human-alien hybrids, he continued, noting how this probably jump-started our ancestor's technological development. Tsoukalos believes an exhibit depicting a recreation of an ancient human at the Darwin Museum in Moscow confirms this hybridization program. Tsoukalos mentioned several puzzling archaeological sites as well, including the famed Cart Ruts of Malta, Ollantaytambo in Peru, and a 400-ton monolithic bridge in India. Local legend says the massive megalithic structure in India was place there by the gods to facilitate pilgrimages, Tsoukalos said.

Tsoukalos also announced that Season 3 of the History Channel series Ancient Aliens has been approved, as well as shared his take on 2012 and the Mayan Calendar. "Nothing will happen," he declared, adding that the biggest problem will probably be massive hangovers the next day."

Forbidden Archeology

Unorthodox researcher Michael Cremo discussed recently on Coast to Coast AM. his continuing work in "forbidden archaeology",(Exploring the artifacts and discoveries that don't fit into conventional timelines and theories.)

He first encountered the idea of "extreme human antiquity" while studying the ancient wisdom traditions, particularly the ancient Sanskrit texts of India. "I found hundreds of reports of archaeological evidence...human bones, human artifacts, and human footprints many millions of years old," he detailed. For instance, Mary Leakey discovered human footprints 3.5 million years old that are very much like modern human footprints, in contrast to the fossil skeleton of "Lucy," from around the same era which has feet that are more ape-like. This type of evidence led Cremo to conclude that Darwinian evolution was wrong, and that Homo sapiens co-existed with earlier proto-humans.

He shared details about William Meister's discovery of an apparent human shoe print in a slab of rock in Utah which also contained a crushed trilobite fossil in the bottom of the print. Even more ancient are metallic balls with grooved sides found in an African mine, which are over 2 billion years old, he said.

Cremo also spoke about "vimanas," flying craft described in ancient Sanskrit. Some of the vehicles were constructed of metal and were seen in the physical dimension, while others were made of more subtle essences and traveled in ethereal realms, he recounted. According to the 20th century channeled book Vaimanika Shastra some of the vimanas had mercury-based propulsion systems. A text from around 1,000 years ago on ancient Indian architecture supports this notion, and also described the ancient use of robots, he noted"

Controversial ideas

According to Messiha, the Saqqara Bird has a vertical tailplane which is unlike the generally horizontal shape of a real bird's tail.[3] It is also legless and has wings set at an angle Messiha sees as similar to that of modern aircraft, which he considered an attempt to create aerodynamic lift.[3]

In spite of these claims, however, no ancient Egyptian aircraft have ever been found, nor has any other evidence suggesting their existence come to light. As a result, the theory that the Saqqara Bird is a model of a flying machine is not accepted by mainstream Egyptologists."

" Prof. Carmen Boulter (The Pyramid Code) discussed the history and mysteries of ancient Egypt, what's being hidden and what's being revealed, on Tuesday's show.

She was recently in Egypt for a press conference about the DNA results of King Tut's mummy, and found the announcement that the young pharaoh had various medical maladies to be slanted and contradictory to her "psychic archeology" view that the leaders from the 18th Dynasty were highly conscious and healthy beings.

She cited evidence for ancient Egypt's advanced technology-- they were very sophisticated in their sky/ground correlations and lined the Giza Pyramids up with stars in the Orion constellation. The pyramids, she said, were built with antigravity methods-- "I envision large lifters and small nudgers," and people acting as "human divining rods that were connecting the cosmic energy to the earth."

"Professor at the University of Calgary, Carmen Boulter presented accumulated evidence and research, which suggests to her that levitation and advanced knowledge were used to construct the numerous pyramids in ancient Egypt. Her past life recall as a child led her to seek physical evidence for her visions of temples, pyramids and ceremonies. This quest brought her to Egypt 23 times, where she conducted extensive academic research, and field work around the Great Pyramid. Thoughts About Crop Circles

The mystery of crop circles goes back through history.Recently while watching a program on the History Internationally Channel.The usual ideas were expressed.The usual man made attempts to recreate them was debunked.Wgere the circles come from is a remaining mystery.

While several times the idea they are created by Aliens is expressed,I wonder why the relationship to the land lines in Peru is never mentioned.To me, many of the symbols seem the same as there and as on many pyramids both Mayan and Egyptian.Have you thought that also?

A History of Atlantis.

I found the video on You Tube.Charlton Heston was a long time favorite despite his political views.You may wish to watch it rather than read this as both are lengthy.I had gotten this together though.

Atlantis Fact Or Fiction?Part 1

The only record we have of Atlantis is from the Greek Philosopher Plato.
Greek philosopher - 427-347 B.C.
Note: Dates are approximate, there is some uncertainty as to his birth and death

Plato was a student of Socrates until the latter's death in 399 BC at the hands of the Athenian authorities. After his teacher's death, Plato traveled extensively, including journeys in Egypt.

In 387 BC he returned to Athens and founded the Academy, a school of science and philosophy, that became the model for the modern university. Perhaps the most famous student of the Academy was Aristotle whose teachings have had tremendous impact on philosophy through today.

Due to the Academy's safekeeping, many of Plato's works have survived. His extant writings are in the form of letters and dialogues, the most famous of which is probably The Republic. His writings cover subjects ranging from knowledge to happiness to politics to nature.

Two of his dialogues, Timeaus and Critias, hold the only known original references to the island of Atlantis.
All of the men, except for Timaeus, who take part in or are mentioned in Timaeus and Critias are known to have actually existed in ancient Greece. Records of their lives and deeds have been recorded in other writings from the time period.

Note: There are 2 people named Critias related to the story of Atlantis and this can lead to some confusion. There is the Critias who actually takes part in the dialogues. He is the one who tells the story of Atlantis to Socrates. Then there is Critias who was the grandfather of the Critias of the dialogues. This elder Critias told the story of Atlantis to his grandson, Critias, who then conveyed the story to Socrates in the dialogues.
The dialogues are conversations between Socrates, Hermocrates, Timeaus, and Critias. Apparently in response to a prior talk by Socrates about ideal societies, Timeaus and Critias agree to entertain Socrates with a tale that is "not a fiction but a true story."

The story is about the conflict between the ancient Athenians and the Atlantians 9000 years before Plato's time. Knowledge of the distant past apparently forgotten to the Athenians of Plato's day, the story of Atlantis was conveyed to Solon by Egyptian priests. Solon passed the tale to Dropides, the great-grandfather of Critias. Critias learned of it from his grandfather also named Critias, son of Dropides.

Those who actually take part in the dialogues:

# Timaeus - there is no historical record of him.
# Critias - Plato's great grandfather.
# Socrates - Plato's mentor and teacher. He was condemned to death by authorities in Athens for "corrupting the moral of Athenian youth"; He lived from 469 to 399 BC.
# Hermocrates - statesman and soldier from Syracuse.

Those mentioned in the dialogues:
# Solon - Athenian traveler, poet, and lawgiver who lived from approximately 638-559 BC. According to Plato it was he who learned of the story of Atlantis from an Egyptian priest.
# Dropides - Critias' great grandfather who was told the story of Atlantis by Solon, a distant relative and close friend.
# Critias - Son of Dropides and grandfather of the Critias who takes part in the dialogues. It was he who related the story of Atlantis to the Critias of the dialogues.


The Story of Atlantis

Over 11,000 years ago there existed an island nation located in the middle of the Atlantic ocean populated by a noble and powerful race. The people of this land possessed great wealth thanks to the natural resources found throughout their island. The island was a center for trade and commerce. The rulers of this land held sway over the people and land of their own island and well into Europe and Africa.

This was the island of Atlantis.
Atlantis was the domain of Poseidon, god of the sea. When Poseidon fell in love with a mortal woman, Cleito, he created a dwelling at the top of a hill near the middle of the island and surrounded the dwelling with rings of water and land to protect her.
leito gave birth to five sets of twin boys who became the first rulers of Atlantis. The island was divided among the brothers with the eldest, Atlas, first King of Atlantis, being given control over the central hill and surrounding areas.

At the top of the central hill, a temple was built to honor Poseidon which housed a giant gold statue of Poseidon riding a chariot pulled by winged horses. It was here that the rulers of Atlantis would come to discuss laws, pass judgments, and pay tribute to Poseidon..

To facilitate travel and trade, a water canal was cut through of the rings of land and water running south for 5.5 miles (~9 km) to the sea.(Large enough for ships to sail.)

The city of Atlantis sat just outside the outer ring of water and spread across the plain covering a circle of 11 miles (1.7 km). This was a densely populated area where the majority of the population lived.

Beyond the city lay a fertile plain 330 miles (530 km) long and 110 miles (190 km) wide surrounded by another canal used to collect water from the rivers and streams of the mountains. The climate was such that two harvests were possible each year. One in the winter fed by the rains and one in the summer fed by irrigation from the canal.

Surrounding the plain to the north were mountains which soared to the skies. Villages, lakes, rivers, and meadows dotted the mountains.

Besides the harvests, the island provided all kinds of herbs, fruits, and nuts. An abundance of animals, including elephants, roamed the island.

For generations the Atlanteans lived simple, virtuous lives. But slowly they began to change. Greed and power began to corrupt them. When Zeus saw the immorality of the Atlanteans he gathered the other gods to determine a suitable punishment.

Soon, in one violent surge it was gone. The island of Atlantis, its people, and its memory were swallowed by the sea.

This is a summary of the story told by Plato around 360 BC in his dialogues Timaeus and Critias.

Erich von Däniken was born April 14th, 1935, in Zofingen, Switzerland.
Writer and Hotellier Erich von Däniken claims that extraterrestrials had contact with the ancient world and that we are descendants of these creatures (ancient astronauts). His books have sold 63 million copies worldwide. He has also been featured on television series. Erich von Däniken's most famous book is Chariots of the Gods.
Despite the fact that after Chariots of the Gods came out some of the material von Däniken used as evidence was shown to be fraudulent and his arguments have been refuted, Erich von Däniken remains extremely popular and many people believe him.
