UFO Disclosure

Recently on Coast To Coast, a new book was discussed. Not sure how I feel about the idea but a lot of people have the hope that the Obama Administration will disclose some secrets held for many years about alien sightings and contact. The Jackie Gleason one was amusing,,,,The illustration is a pattern from the shop of Emporium at Etsy.Until I found it I was thinking of using my earrings, but think this is so neat.
More at http://Emporium.etsy.com

"... Researcher Grant Cameron and activist Stephen Bassett discussed the UFO disclosure movement, and US presidents and their knowledge of UFOs/ETs. Bassett announced that Cameron's forthcoming book, U.S. Presidents and UFOs: The Untold Story, has been picked by a New York publisher, Overlook Press.

Cameron gave a rundown on what various presidents may have known about UFOs. Here is a sampling:

* Truman-- was involved with the Roswell Incident, and had the most control of all the presidents in terms of keeping secrets.
* Eisenhower-- possible ET meeting in '54.
* LBJ-- may have had meetings about the Kecksburg Crash.
* Nixon-- reportedly showed alien bodies to Jackie Gleason.
* Carter-- had his own UFO sighting; helped to open the door for Freedom of Information documents.
* Reagan-- made references to aliens in his speeches, and confirmed ETs to Steven Spielberg.

Bassett spoke about the upcoming X-Conference, he is hosting in the Washington DC area on April 17-19th. Highlights include appearances by George Noory, Edgar Mitchell, & Graham Hancock and a debate between Bassett and Col. John Alexander."

A Pink Dolphin?

There are surely strange natural happenings...Recently in an inland lake in the Southern USA a charter boat captain saw and photographed an albino bottle nose dolphin which he described as "stunningly pink."It was swimming with a pod of four, one of whom appeared to be its mother.

Pink dolphin appears in US lake

"The world's only pink Bottlenose dolphin which was discovered in an inland lake in Louisiana, USA, has become such an attraction that conservationists have warned tourists to leave it alone."
Further from the article in the Telegraph
"Charter boat captain Erik Rue, 42, photographed the animal, which is actually an albino, when he began studying it after the mammal first surfaced in Lake Calcasieu, an inland saltwater estuary, north of the Gulf of Mexico in southwestern USA.

Capt Rue originally saw the dolphin, which also has reddish eyes, swimming with a pod of four other dolphins, with one appearing to be its mother which never left its side.
He said: "I just happened to see a little pod of dolphins, and I noticed one that was a little lighter.

"It was absolutely stunningly pink.

"I had never seen anything like it. It's the same color throughout the whole body and it looks like it just came out of a paint booth.

"The dolphin appears to be healthy and normal other than its coloration, which is quite beautiful and stunningly pink.
..."I have personally spotted the pink dolphin 40 to 50 times in the time since the original sighting as it has apparently taken up residence with its family in the Calcasieu ship channel.

"As time has passed the young mammal has grown and sometimes ventures away from its mother to feed and play but always remains in the vicinity of the pod.

"Surprisingly, it does not appear to be drastically affected by the environment or sunlight as might be expected considering its condition, although it tends to remain below the surface a little more than the others in the pod."...

The Chupacabra

One of the debated creatures not previously covered in the Cryptozoological presentations is the Chupacabra.

The illustration is a Friendship Card from the shop of FullFrogMoon at Etsy. The shop announcement says "In recent weeks, I have been hard at work creating artwork for a number of new product types like magnets and stick puppets. For the immediate future, I plan to continue with my eclectic mix of fantasy and political art, featuring public figures that are both respected or reviled in the public eye. I enjoy creating illustrations of politicians and celebrities interacting with ghosts and monsters, especially creatures from cryptozoology, like Bigfoot, Yeti and the Chupacabra.

Most of my artwork can be made into different products like posters, ornaments or magnets, so please send me a convo(method of sending a message within Etsy ie conversations) message if you would like something in a different medium. The work is outstanding. If you want a peek visit http://FullFrogMoon.etsy.com

Still love the site at http://www.cryptomungo.com in general but thought you might like to have the point of view from skeptics so...

"The chupacabra ("goat sucker") is an animal said to be unknown to science and systemically killing animals in places like Puerto Rico, Miami, Nicaragua, Chile, and Mexico. The creature's name originated with the discovery of some dead goats in Puerto Rico with puncture wounds in their necks and their blood allegedly drained. According to UFO Magazine (March/April 1996) there have been more than 2,000 reported cases of animal mutilations in Puerto Rico attributed to the chupacabra.

Like other creatures in the cryptozoologist's barnyard, the chupacabra has been variously described. Some witnesses have seen a small half-alien, half-dinosaur tailless vampire with quills running down its back; others have seen a panther like creature with a long snake-like tongue; still others have seen a hopping animal that leaves a trail of sulfuric stench. Some think it may be a type of dinosaur heretofore unknown. Some are convinced that the wounds on animals whose deaths have been attributed to the chupacabra indicate an alien presence. However, they do not attribute the "mutilations" to the aliens themselves, but to one of their pets or experiments gone awry. Such creatures are known as Anomalous Biological Entities [ABEs] in UFO circles."

It Is Not A "Twilight" Vampire!

The idea of vampires has persisted for centuries.? Do they really exist? If so are not likely to be romanticized as in popular American culture.

An interesting historical find recently:
" 'Vampire' skull discovered in Italy

March 10: Officials uncover the body of a woman buried with a brick in her mouth, a common practice for those believed to be vampires in the middle ages. Msnbc.com's Dara Brown reports.
ROME - An archaeological dig near Venice has unearthed the 16th-century remains of a woman with a brick stuck between her jaws — evidence, experts say, that she was believed to be a vampire.

The unusual burial is thought to be the result of an ancient vampire-slaying ritual. It suggests the legend of the mythical bloodsucking creatures was tied to medieval ignorance of how diseases spread and what happens to bodies after death, experts said.

The well-preserved skeleton was found in 2006 on the Lazzaretto Nuovo island, north of the lagoon city, amid other corpses buried in a mass grave during an epidemic of plague that hit Venice in 1576."Article

Healing And Power Of Stones

Work by Heavenly Flower At Etsy

Mystic Power Of Stones

So much has been written about using drystals and stones in healing and in protection,I could never begin to do the topic justice her.Originally, I planned to refer to a recent Coast To Coast program with a renowned expert on the matter. In the process of looking for Bloodstone to which she refers,I found a wonderful artist designer on Etsy who incorporates in the description of her beautiful pieces something about beliefs associated,For example of the bloodstone bracelet which was chosen for this post she says:
"You are probably familiar with Aquamarine, the well known birthstone for March. However, the traditional birthstone for the month of March is bloodstone; and many cultures around the world still recognize it as such. Rooted in history, it has been treasured by ancient civilizations for centuries, including the early Christian church; as bloodstone is said to represent the blood of Jesus Christ. In Ayurvedic healing & astrology, bloodstone is considered a medicine as well as an aphrodisiac."

You will probably want to check out her shop,Some of her pieces are in the video, but it is well worth a visit to browse and read some of the details presented.
http://heavenlyflower.etsy.com

From the program mentioned:
"Healing Stones:

In the first hour, expert on energy healing, Shelley Kaehr talked about the power of gems and minerals. According to Kaehr, certain stones can shift the vibrational frequency of a person's body to create healing. She recounted the story of man who used a bloodstone to help cure a serious lung condition. Kaehr thinks the chlorite in the bloodstone may be at least partially responsible for its healing properties, but also admitted there could be a more metaphysical reason for why and how it works."

Another Ghost In The News

This was a Friday the 13th article, but isn't it nice to find more features of ghosts appearing.
" By Stephanie Smith

LEWISTON – It was Friday the 13th, unusual in that it was the second time in two months for the day one in five Americans think might actually mean something. Maybe black cats or broken mirrors get their attention. Or maybe they turn that attention to ghosts.

To many business owners on Lewiston's Main Street, ghosts, spirits, or whatever you want to call them, are very real.

Morgan's Alley is rumored to be haunted by a spirit known as the Lady in Blue.

"Everybody talks about it and has had little experiences," said Harvesting the Arts employee Carmelita Nedrow.

Nedrow said she has heard and felt the Lady in Blue and that lead her to paint a portrait. Many of the encounters happen in a stairway to the 3rd floor. Nedrow took photographs to prepare for her painting, and when she looked at the pictures, she discovered something strange.

"I saw these little orbs on the steps and coming down the steps, going around the corner," said Nedrow.

Nedrow’s experiences are not unique. Vikky Ross is one of the owners of the building and when she bought it, she heard the stories.

"The Lady in Blue has been seen by other people for the last 30 years," said Ross.

Ross said doors open and close unexpectedly, lights flicker and many tenants said they feel like they are being watched.

Ross said doors open and close unexpectedly, lights flicker and many tenants said they feel like they are being watched.

"I heard piano music start to play and I followed it through, because it was really getting louder and louder as I was coming up stairs," said Ross. "I went clear to the 3rd floor and there was music coming but there was no explanation for it. It was just there, so I decided to leave."

As spooky as that sounds, no one thinks the Lady in Blue has ill intent. Lewiston City Council Member Garry Bush owns Ghost Tours and says the Lady is a friendly character.

"I think she's curious and I think like Vikky said, she's not mean spirited," said Bush. "When something happens in this building she is the caretaker."

In the 30s and 40s Morgan's Alley was a mix of rowdy bars and brothels. Once thought to be a prostitute, now the Lady in Blue is regarded as Mary Spalding, the wife of a missionary. Bush said she often shows herself on his ghost tours.

"I have an article that I think is dealing with this lady and as I read it to the folks, she has been seen over my shoulder, next to me, reading the article," said Bush.

But Morgan's Alley isn't the only haunt on main street.

"I think that every one of the buildings downtown has some paranormal activity," said Bush.

In the basement of one of those building people said they have seen lights flicker, in a room with no electricity.

Bush said some ghosts are interactive like the Lady in Blue while others are on a loop, always doing the same thing.

The next time you are in downtown Lewiston, keep your eyes open, because you never know who's watching. "

Ever See A Leprechaun?

Dr. Bob Curran was born in a remote area in Northern Ireland. At age 14, he left school, became a gravedigger and eventually worked at a number of jobs including professional musician and journalist. He attended university where he took his doctorate and became a teacher. He now works in education and cross-community cultural projects.
He has traveled many parts of the world, exploring other people's cultures and traditions having written a number of books on various beliefs.

Curran discussed Irish and Celtic legends, and beings such as fairies and leprechauns. Ireland is known as a particularly mystical place in part because of the ancient Celtics who saw spirits living everywhere within the land, he noted. The oral tradition was also particularly strong, with stories being passed down through generations, he added.

Excavated bones found in Ireland show a race of smaller people-- possibly pygmy-like aboriginals who lived on the land before the Celts, and this is one possible explanation for how lore about leprechauns began, he said.

Leprechauns were often associated with money (they were thought to know where riches were stashed during invasions), as well as a distilled brew called poteen, Curran detailed. In contrast to the leprechauns, fairies could look like typical humans, but a group known as the grogoch, were small, completely covered in fur with monkey like faces.

If you have never seen a Leprechaun, you might be interested in checking out this sire
http://www.irelandseye.com/leprechaun/webcam.htm
Shown in the picture, there is a webcam in place in this remote area The Leprechaun fairy watch Tipperary, Ireland.

This is an enchanted area, well known for magical associations. There is fairy ring close-by and you may see leprechauns and other Irish fairies such as pookas, banshees and merrows.

Because the Leprechaun Watch is in the countryside in a remote part of Ireland there is only natural light and there will be little or nothing to see after dark and before dawn. The time shown is the current time in Tipperary, Ireland. In the summer in Ireland it is often bright until quite late at night.

Here are some of the sightings received from viewers since the Leprechaun Watch began. Have you seen any of these happenings. Don't forget to take a look at the webcam and you never know what you might see.

I saw something small walking through the forest!there was a flicker of something brown with flitting wings

I keep see little orbs like lights roaming around the camera

i saw the vague image of a leprchaun he was holding two sacks. he sat on a brown log and just stared at me. he satared for almost 10 minutes and then realized that I (or the camera) was watching so he ran. he must have been fast because the screen gave the effect of him being fast by making everything all blurry. he looked like a picture from a story book.

I see a vague outline of a person. Maybe a leprechaun. It's wearing green and is holding something. I can't tell what though. It looks like it's walking away. next to it i see a vague outline of what seems to be a green hat. this was between 9:45 and 9:49

i sall him right there

IT WAS FREAKY!!!!!!!!!!

Saint Patrick On Saint Patrick's Day

As you toast maybe with green beer, eat corned beef and cabbage, you probably will hear some great Irish stories.Unfortunately our Parade was rained out so will not be until this weekend,How can you celebrate the Day after the fact?

Any way,I heard that the story that Saint Patrick had banished the snakes from Ireland was not true,,,So went to look up a bit about him.I found this on the History Channel website and am lifting it.There are other interesting items about the Holiday there also should you be interested. This is from:
http://www.history.com/content/stpatricksday/who-was-st.-patrick

"Who Was St. Patrick?

St. Patrick, the patron saint of Ireland, is one of Christianity's most widely known figures. But for all his celebrity, his life remains somewhat of a mystery. Many of the stories traditionally associated with St. Patrick, including the famous account of his banishing all the snakes from Ireland, are false, the products of hundreds of years of exaggerated storytelling.
Taken Prisoner By Irish Raiders

It is known that St. Patrick was born in Britain to wealthy parents near the end of the fourth century. He is believed to have died on March 17, around 460 A.D. Although his father was a Christian deacon, it has been suggested that he probably took on the role because of tax incentives and there is no evidence that Patrick came from a particularly religious family. At the age of sixteen, Patrick was taken prisoner by a group of Irish raiders who were attacking his family's estate. They transported him to Ireland where he spent six years in captivity. (There is some dispute over where this captivity took place. Although many believe he was taken to live in Mount Slemish in County Antrim, it is more likely that he was held in County Mayo near Killala.) During this time, he worked as a shepherd, outdoors and away from people. Lonely and afraid, he turned to his religion for solace, becoming a devout Christian. (It is also believed that Patrick first began to dream of converting the Irish people to Christianity during his captivity.)

Guided By Visions

After more than six years as a prisoner, Patrick escaped. According to his writing, a voice-which he believed to be God's-spoke to him in a dream, telling him it was time to leave Ireland.

To do so, Patrick walked nearly 200 miles from County Mayo, where it is believed he was held, to the Irish coast. After escaping to Britain, Patrick reported that he experienced a second revelation-an angel in a dream tells him to return to Ireland as a missionary. Soon after, Patrick began religious training, a course of study that lasted more than fifteen years. After his ordination as a priest, he was sent to Ireland with a dual mission-to minister to Christians already living in Ireland and to begin to convert the Irish. (Interestingly, this mission contradicts the widely held notion that Patrick introduced Christianity to Ireland.)

Bonfires and Crosses
Familiar with the Irish language and culture, Patrick chose to incorporate traditional ritual into his lessons of Christianity instead of attempting to eradicate native Irish beliefs. For instance, he used bonfires to celebrate Easter since the Irish were used to honoring their gods with fire. He also superimposed a sun, a powerful Irish symbol, onto the Christian cross to create what is now called a Celtic cross, so that veneration of the symbol would seem more natural to the Irish. (Although there were a small number of Christians on the island when Patrick arrived, most Irish practiced a nature-based pagan religion. The Irish culture centered around a rich tradition of oral legend and myth. When this is considered, it is no surprise that the story of Patrick's life became exaggerated over the centuries-spinning exciting tales to remember history has always been a part of the Irish way of life.)"

So Saint Patrick is honored today.

If This Is True We Are In For A Surprise

Recently I heard some information that made me think "This Government Conspiracy Thing might be true."
Several experts on UFO research and some on Prophecy have said publically that Obama may reveal "facts" about ET presence. This was interesting. Then this on ET Policy & Disclosure was presented by a
"Pioneer in the development of 'Exopolitics,' Michael Salla .(Salla Exopolitics
http://www.exopolitics.org/
)

Michael Salla spoke about how government policies are evolving around the issue of ET and UFO disclosure. He views disclosure as being part of a process that in many ways began with Steven Greer's 2001 press event. He foresees a gradual series of steps by the Obama administration to move towards more openness, first about UFO sightings, then admissions of microbes on other planets such as Mars, and eventually there could be the acknowledgment of intelligent ET life.

Key players in the Obama administration around the disclosure issue include Hillary Clinton, who was said to be briefed on the Rockefeller Initiative in 1995, and Dennis Blair, the Director of National Intelligence, who Salla said became familiar with USOs (unidentified submerged objects) as a Navy admiral. Conditioning the public through mass media, such as popular films with ET subjects, is also propelling the issue forward, he noted.

Salla reviewed noteworthy whistleblower testimony, such as that of Airman 2nd Class Wilbur Kirtland (pseudonym), a medic who worked at Holloman AFB in 1955, when Eisenhower purportedly met with ETs and signed an agreement with them. Kirtland said he overheard two pilots talking about a 45-minute meeting that took place aboard a flying saucer. Another witness, an electrician, said he saw the alien shipland at the base, Salla recounted. For more on the incident, see this article by investigator Art Campbell. http://www.ufocrashbook.com/eisenhower.html

A Tribute To Dr.Ian Stevenson

As one ages it is not uncommon to remember the past. This week I have indulged in recounting some earlier experiences.Especially since several people asked why on earth I was so interested in the paranormal...A very real influence was a Hero from my first teaching position.Directly from graduate school,I went to the University of Virginia to teach the clinical and theory in Psychiatric Nursing.Filled with idealism, enthusiasm and commitment I developed and scheduled the course.
The chairman of the Department of Neurology and Psychiatry in the hospital and for the School of Medicine was Dr.Ian Stevenson. He was very supportive of the nursing staff and the teaching program

As few outside the field have an understanding of what the process of psychiatric treatment is really like,he became along with several of the doctors and nursing staff my main source of support.I greatly admired his skill as an interviewer with patients and staff as well as an administrator of the department. He was a true Gentleman and scholar.
He allowed an interest in the Paranormal to be credible. He shared his research in reincarnation with us and supported several of the other physicians interest in "the unusual"ie paranormal.
He was aware that many of the other faculty were not supportive of his ideas but continued his meticulous attention to details and scientific method. He was strong, rather silent with a wry sense of humor..Once at a Christmas party, while dancing. one of my shoes flew off belted through the air and landed in the punch bowl.I was mortified but he smiled and said "Well,I have heard of kicking up your heels.."

He also was very supportive of an unintended problem I ran into with some students writing a letter to the editor of a Richmond paper deploring that the Legislators who visited the State Hospital did not get off the bus to really look at the situation.Initially everyone was happy that the students were interested enough to do so as it had never happened before .It changed considerably when The University got calls asking for my resignation and the Director of Nursing at that hospital was fired He intervened with the Dean on my behalf.

Ian P. Stevenson, M.D., died February 8, 2007 in Charlottesville, Virginia, at age 88. The picture is of Dr.Stevenson at the University
Dr. Stevenson is known worldwide for his research, conducted over more than 40 years, on cases of the reincarnation type and other evidence for survival after death. Born in Montreal, Canada, on October 31, 1918, he was educated at St. Andrew’s University in Scotland and McGill University in Montreal, and he received his medical degree from McGill in 1943, earning an award for the highest aggregate in all subjects forming the medical curriculum. After a brief period of research in biochemistry, Stevenson, dissatisfied with its reductionism, looked for a way to study what he considered “something closer to the whole human being.” In the late 1940s, therefore, he joined a group at New York Hospital and began research in psychosomatic medicine, particularly on the effects of stress and strong emotions on physical symptoms. This work eventually led him to training in psychiatry and psychoanalysis, and in 1957, at the young age of 38, he was appointed Professor and Chairman of the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Virginia.

Long periods of seclusion due to a childhood illness helped foster his lifelong habit of voracious reading. In 1935 he started keeping a list of every book he read, and by 2003 it numbered 3535 books. His extraordinarily wide reading in history in particular showed him the transience of ideas and convictions once considered immutable, and he strongly resisted the temptation of many scientists to “accept current knowledge as forever fixed.” As a result, throughout his life he experienced the considerable obstacles confronting a scientist who wishes to conduct and publish unorthodox research. After he published a paper in 1957 questioning the orthodox Freudian view that human personality is determined by early childhood experiences, a colleague asked him whether he could walk the streets unarmed.

satisfactory theories of the origin and body and eventually led him to undertake extensive reading in the literature of psychical research about extrasensory perception and a wide variety of experiences suggesting survival after death, such as apparitions, near-death experiences and deathbed visions, and mediumship. He eventually conducted and published research in all these areas, but it was the discovery in obscure publications of numerous scattered reports of young children who seemed to have memories of a previous life that led to the research that he pioneered and for which he is now best known. In 1961 he took his first field trip, to India and Sri Lanka (then Ceylon), to study at first hand the reported previous life memories of young children. After this first trip, Chester Carlson, the inventor of the Xerox machine, funded additional trips, and when Carlson died in 1968 he left funds for research and an endowed chair, sufficient to allow Dr. Stevenson to resign from his clinical and administrative duties and devote himself full-time to research. In addition, Dr. Stevenson was able to found the Division of Personality (now Perceptual) Studies,

the only university-based research unit in the world devoted to the study of previous life memories, near-death experiences, and related phenomena.

Now this division continues this work. The web site states
"The Division of Perceptual Studies (DOPS), formerly the Division of Personality Studies , is a unit of the Department of Psychiatric Medicine at the University of Virginia. Utilizing scientific methods, we investigate apparent paranormal phenomena, especially:

* Children Who Claim to Remember Previous Lives (reincarnation)
* Near-Death Experiences
* Out of Body Experiences
* Apparitions and After-Death Communications
* Deathbed Visions"

As Dr.Kelley stared in the obituary written for him" He had no children, but he leaves numerous younger colleagues inspired, trained, and encouraged in their own careers by him."
Thank you Dr.Stevenson for allowing me to be among those.

CynfullyCreative Has A Visit,,,Story

If you admire the recycle and upcycle process and products, CynfullyCreative has a shop you will want to see. This mother of two does some outstanding work. She says od herself:
"Although I have been sewing and crafting for as long as I can remember, I have only been selling my creations for about a year. I came from a family where my grandmother taught my mom and then me how to sew, do needlepoint, knit, crochet, etc. I stumbled across a market for reconstructed clothing items and thought, "Hey, I can do that!" Made a couple of items for myself and the rest, I put up for sale. The rest, as they say, is . I also hope to someday keep my grandmother's memory alive by teaching my kids to sew and craft. history!"
To visit http:CynfullyCreative.etsy.com

Here is an unexpected encounter she had as a child, in her own words.
"This happened around 1988. I was 13. My grandpa had passed away two weeks before Christmas that year. He was cremated, so we just had a memorial service for him. Fast forward to Christmas morning. All the presents had been opened. I was playing under the Christmas tree. My daddy was in his room, watching a football game. My mom and grandma were in the kitchen getting dinner ready.

All of a sudden the whole atmosphere changed in the living room. The parade that had been on the TV changed to a football game. At first, I thought my daddy had come into the room, but he hadn't. And I know neither my mom nor grandmas would watch the game. I look over to the recliner and there sat my grandpa! I saw him clear as day, could hear the game and everything.

My grandpa looked over at my, raised his hand as if to say good bye. And that was it. Everything went back to the way it was not 5 seconds prior. And, I went on with my day, as if nothing had happened."

Psychic Spying

On a recent Coast To Coast AM radio show, George Knapp was joined "by rogue journalist Gary S. Bekkum, who discussed his research into Project Star Gate, a secret program halted in 1995 that used remote viewing and psychic spying for military purposes. In studying the declassified files covering more than two decades, he found information about lesser known efforts such as experiments with remote influencing, and telepathy. Attempts were made to send psychic messages to soldiers, and this was met with mixed success, he noted. "Project P," in which viewers tried to read headlines from newspapers of the future, didn't appear to work, though Bekkum said one headline perceived had '9-11' in its title.

There were psychic hints of 9-11 as far back as 1983, said Bekkum. An experiment involving altered states of consciousness at the Monroe Institute yielded a vision of an airplane with explosives flying toward the Capitol building. In a 1986 program tracking terrorism, some psychics described simultaneous attacks on New York and Washington, with a building collapsing from something flying through it, he shared."

Some other psychics and "regular people" it seems had precognitive dreams about the occurrence.

The Empty Envelope At Etsy

The Empty Envelope Has A Story

One of my favorite Etsy sellers is The Empty Envelope. Here is what she says about her shop:
"Welcome to The Empty Envelope! Where lost things are found, mysteries are made and unraveled, and creativity is sent.
I blog about my adventures finding things at http://www.theemptyenvelope.blogspot.com.

My name is Pamela. I have been a crafter for many years now. I also enjoy finding strange or unusual things.

When I was in high school, I started scouring thrift shops for vintage clothes. Almost all my favorite shows were either on Nick at Nite (Dick Van Dyke Show, Mary Tyler Moore Show, I Love Lucy, Dragnet, the Monkees) or set in an earlier time period (Adventures of Young Indiana Jones, Road to Avonlea, Wonder Years). I love to research things and enjoy trying to date the items I find.

I also have Amazing Sensory Abilities;). I 'think in pictures' and remember quite a bit. Makes it incredibly handy when looking at items to put up in the shop. I can remember how clothes I wore growing up felt, what the sky looked like a certain year, what eras have come back in what years...Not only that, I'm also very touchy feely and have always touched ceramics, etc that I have come into contact with. I remember what they feel like and how they've changed over the years."

Her story is about the dreaded traffic ticket.Almost all of us has gotten one or more in out time.Well some people have had quite a surprise,,, She shared this as a response to the post about the police investigating the girl in the UK who might have been a ghost.

" ...I don't know what to think. It sounds like the phantom police officer in St Paul, MN who gives out tickets.

When the people get to court, they find out the officer has been dead for many many years.

So much is subject to what the person is actually seeing/experiencing too."

Some of her work is in the video .Visit the shop for more,

Ghost Peaks Under Ice Explored

Maybe new clues to climate change?
This was concluded last week.

EXPLORING THE SUBGLACIAL GAMBURTSEV MOUNTAINS
'Ghost peaks' mapped under ice
By Jonathan Amos
Science reporter, BBC News http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/science/nature/7908824.stm

"The scale of the AGAP project required international co-operation

Scientists have completed their mission to map one of the most extraordinary mountain ranges on Earth.

Researchers believe the Gamburtsevs would have been the starting point for the great glaciers that eventually spread out to cover the entire polar region when it was plunged into a deep freeze more than 30 million years ago.

In their data, scientists hope to pinpoint the best place to drill a core from the ice. Ancient air trapped in the in snow layers as they were laid down could provide remarkable new insights into the climate history of Earth.

"At the moment, it is like the first page of a book. Up until now we just had an ambitious plan. Now we have all this remarkable data to pore over," Dr Ferraccioli.

The Gamburtsevs are a set of peaks equal in size to the European Alps, but they are hidden deep under the ice in the middle of the Antarctic continent.

The survey data gathered by the multi-national team working in harsh, sub-zero temperatures will help resolve the mystery of why the range exists at all.

Their presence, when first discovered in the 1950s, was totally unexpected.

Scientists thought the interior of the continent would be relatively flat.

Modern-day remote-sensing technology reveals quite the opposite - a very jagged landscape, albeit buried under up to 4km of ice.

"We can confirm they are there; we've seen them under the ice," said Dr Fausto Ferraccioli from the British Antarctic Survey.

"Not only are they similar in dimension to the European Alps, but they are also similar in aspect: we see very sharp peaks and valleys which are remarkably similar to the Alps themselves," he told BBC News.

"It all adds to the mystery - from the tectonic perspective of how these mountains were created; and from the glacial history perspective of how the East Antarctic ice sheet was formed and didn't erode these peaks."

The AGAP (Antarctica's Gamburtsev Province) project comprised scientists, engineers, pilots and support staff from the UK, the US, Germany, Australia, China and Japan.

They established two field camps deep in the Antarctic interior.
"The temperatures at our camps hovered around -30C, but three kilometres beneath us at the bottom of the ice sheet we saw liquid water in the valleys," explained AGAP US co-leader Dr Robin Bell, of the Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory at Columbia University, New York, US.
Aircraft swept back and forth across the ice, mapping the shape of the sub-glacial mountains using ice-penetrating radar.

Other instruments measured the local gravitational and magnetic fields.

Some 120,000km were flown, the equivalent of three trips around the globe. In total, over 20% (one-fifth) of the East Antarctic Ice Sheet was explored."

Police Search...Girl Or Ghost?

Seems the English are more accepting of Ghosts than we are.A recent report:

John Teece-Millington believes he saw the ghost of a young girl walking along St Martin’s Way.
Published Date: 12 February 2009

A POLICE search operation was launched after a motorist spotted a little girl walking alone in Chester city centre.
John Teece-Millington was driving along St Martin's Way at 12.30am on Monday, February 2, when he saw the young girl walking along the pavement clutching a teddy bear.

He was so concerned for her welfare that he alerted police and seven patrols were deployed around the city.

No trace of the girl was found and Mr Teece-Millington now believes he saw a ghost.

"I was stationary for a couple of minutes waiting for the lights to change when I spotted a small girl, aged roughly about seven years old with shoulder length hair, a full fringe and large dark rimmed glasses," he said.

"She was wearing a white blouse, short pleated skirt but no coat, socks or shoes, and was clutching a teddy bear.

"She was slowly walking along the road towards the traffic lights. I rolled the window down and slowed up to her to make sure she was okay but she carried on walking without a care in the world.
"I was on my way home and was five minutes away from the nearest garage when I spotted a policeman. I reported seeing the little girl as I thought it was strange for her to be out alone at that time and it was a freezing night."

Police spokesman, Shelley Williams said a search was launched at 12.30am and police even contacted taxi drivers to be aware of a young girl possibly wandering the streets alone.

The search was suspended after no-one was found and no-one was reported missing.

Mr Teece-Millington, a caretaker at Stanley Palace and a member of Cheshire Paranormal, is appealing for anyone else to come forward who may have seen the girl.

Could It Be Something In The Water?

The old joke at the office water cooler takes a new twist with this recent account of a town of twins.

Mystery of the ‘Land of Twins’: Something in the Water? Mengele?
http://www.nytimes.com/2009/02/23/world/americas/23twins.html?_r=1

"It was in the early 1990s that the high proportion of twins was widely noticed. Soon, camera crews were rolling in from all over. Town leaders declared São Pedro(Brazil) to have the highest concentration of twins in the world. (A spokesman for Guinness World Records could not confirm that claim, saying Guinness did not keep track of the category.)

Today, residents relish the attention. Last year, at São Pedro’s sixth biennial twins party, they erected a statue of a woman holding a boy in one arm and his twin sister in the other, and installed a moat-like “fertility spring” that lights up at night.

A sign at the entrance to Cândido Godói says, “Garden City and Land of Twins.” More than 80 percent of its 6,700 residents are of German descent. They began arriving around World War I, lured by the prospect of cheap land, an agreeable farming climate ...

Geneticists say the most likely explanation for the twins is genetic isolation and inbreeding. Ursula Matte, a geneticist in Porto Alegre, found that from 1990 to 1994, 10 percent of the births in São Pedro were twins, compared with 1.8 percent for the state of Rio Grande do Sul.

Mr. Sauthier (a Historian/Resident) said he believed private water sources contain a mineral that affects ovulation. “To this day, no one has tested that water,” he said, noting that in the past decade the town switched to underground well water, a possible explanation for a recent decline in twin births.

Testing the spring sources would be expensive and, Dr. Matte said, would require some hypothesis about what the research was looking for. She doubts the town will ever push seriously to do a study. “They like to maintain the mystery,” she said.

There was no evidence of the use of contraceptives or fertility drugs among the women, nor of any genetic mixing with people of African origin, who have higher twinning rates than caucasians, Dr. Matte said. But the rate of identical twins here, at 47 percent of all twin births, is far higher than the 30 percent that is expected in the general population, she found.

A book about the twins, published in 2007, tells of several visits Mengele made to the region, using false names.

“I am convinced that Mengele was in the region and was observing the twins phenomenon,” Dr. da Silva said. He said a man identifying himself as Rudolf Weiss attended women with varicose veins and sometimes performed dental work. And some residents told him a German man was driving from home to home in a mobile laboratory, collecting samples and ministering to women.

Mr. Sauthier, the historian, said that the assertions lacked proof and that the German community did not deserve to be associated with “a criminal like Mengele.”
There are no Nazi sympathizers in this region,” he said, although he acknowledged a historical interest in Nazi artifacts, including a 1937 metal milk can with a swastika in his museum and a 1936 photo of schoolchildren in Cândido Godói holding swastika flags that was included in Dr. da Silva’s book.

But to some, the mystery remains. A decade ago, Anencir Flores da Silva, a town doctor and former mayor of Cândido Godói, set out to solve it, and he has since interviewed more than 100 people. He said he believed that people were holding back information about Mengele.

“In a region full of Nazis, there are some that remain silent, who are scared,” Dr. da Silva said. “It is important that we discover the truth.”

A book he helped write about the twins, published in 2007, tells of several visits Mengele made to the region, using false names.
Even today they live a relatively isolated existence. Oxen still drag farm machinery. Residents speak a German dialect to one another.
Some researchers have suggested the darker possibility that Josef Mengele, the Nazi physician known as the Angel of Death, was involved. Mengele, residents say, roamed this region of southern Brazil, posing as a veterinarian, in the 1960s, about the time the twins explosion began. In a book published last year, an Argentine journalist, Jorge Camarasa, suggested that Mengele conducted experiments with women here that resulted in the higher rate of twins, many of them with blond hair and light-colored eyes. The experiments, locals said, may have involved new types of drugs and preparations, or even the artificial insemination Mengele claimed to know about, regarding cows and humans.

But neither Mr. Camarasa nor any other adherent of the Mengele theory has been able to prove the escaped Nazi conducted any experiments here. Mengele, who died in Brazil in 1979, was notorious for his often deadly experiments on twins at Auschwitz, ostensibly in an effort to produce a master Aryan race for Hitler.

“People who are speculating about Mengele are doing so to sell books,” said Paulo Sauthier, a historian who runs a museum here. “He studied the twins phenomenon in Germany, not here.”

Interesting, Nazi or Nature it is still unusual.

The Source Of Envy?

This recent article was interesting especially to those who struggle with the emotion in their lives be it self or other..
BeainThe green-eyed monster that lives in your brain: Scientists discover the jealousy lobe

By Daily Mail Reporter
Last updated at 9:13 AM on 17th February 2009

"It is a vice that few can avoid but that nobody craves.

Now the area of the brain which controls jealousy has been found, scientists have announced.

It is the same part which detects real physical pain – perhaps explaining why feeling envious of your lover's philandering ways hurts so much.

The spot which makes people delight in others' misfortune – called schadenfreude – was also located by the team.

'It's interesting the part of the brain which detects physical pain is also associated with mental pain,' said Hidehiko Takahashi, who led the research.
'Assessing these feelings of jealousy will possibly be helpful in mental care such as counselling.'

'Envy is corrosive and ugly, and it can ruin your life,' Richard Smith, a professor of psychology at the University of Kentucky told the New York Times.
'If you’re an envious person, you have a hard time appreciating a lot of the good things that are out there, because you’re too busy worrying about how they reflect on the self.'

In the experiments, 19 students were asked to talk of a more successful rival while having MRI scans, which monitor brain activity.
A part of their frontal lobe became more active when the students felt jealous of their rivals, the Japanese study showed.

They then read a story in which the subject of their envy suffered a series of misfortunes, including food poisoning.

Their scan data showed the mishaps sparked greater activity in the 'reward reaction' part of the brain, which normally lights up when receiving social and financial fortune.

'We have a saying in Japanese, ‘The misfortunes of others are the taste of honey,’' said Mr Takahashi. 'The ventral striatum is processing that ‘honey.’'

And there appears to be a relationship between jealousy and schadenfreude. The scientists noted that the more jealous one person was of another, the more schadenfreude they felt at that person's downfall.

'We now have a better understanding of the mechanism at work when people take pleasure in another's misfortune,' said Mr Takahashi.

'This is the way other needs-processing systems like hunger and thirst work,' Matthew Lieberman of the psychology department at the University of California, Los Angeles, who co-wrote a commentary that accompanies the report, told the New York Times.

'The hungrier or thirstier that you feel, the more pleasurable it is when you finally eat or drink.
