World's Smallest Einstein

A diminutive horse born in New Hampshire could lay claim to the world record for lightweight foal
http://www.foxnews.com/us/2010/04/26/pint-sized-pinto-born-new-hampshire-worlds-smallest-horse/?test=latestnew
"A pint-sized pinto born in New Hampshire could lay claim to the world record for lightweight foal.
The Union Leader reported Monday that the miniature stallion, named Einstein, weighed just 6 pounds and measured 14 inches in height when he was born Friday in Barnstead, N.H.
Those proportions fit a human baby just about right but are downright tiny for horse, even a miniature breed like Einstein.
Dr. Rachel Wagner, Einstein's co-owner, said the Guinness Book of Records lists the smallest newborn horse as weighing in at 9 pounds.
Breeders say that unlike the current record holder, Thumbelina
, Einstein shows no signs of dwarfism. Instead, he's just a tiny horse...."
I realize this is not paranormal but it is unusual. The next three posts will also br focused on other things and then back for some ghosts..

Hawking Warns Don't Talk With Aliens
Did you see the Discovery Channel about Stephen Hawking take on ET life?He is a most remarkable man.I missed it but plan to tune in for the rest of the series. Here is a recap of part of it from The Times Online.
"THE aliens are out there and Earth had better watch out, at least according to Stephen Hawking. He has suggested that extraterrestrials are almost certain to exist — but that instead of seeking them out, humanity should be doing all it that can to avoid any contact.
The suggestions come in a new documentary series in which Hawking, one of the world’s leading scientists, will set out his latest thinking on some of the universe’s greatest mysteries.
Alien life, he will suggest, is almost certain to exist in many other parts of the universe: not just in planets, but perhaps in the centre of stars or even floating in interplanetary space.
Hawking’s logic on aliens is, for him, unusually simple. The universe, he points out, has 100 billion galaxies, each containing hundreds of millions of stars. In such a big place, Earth is unlikely to be the only planet where life has evolved.
“To my mathematical brain, the numbers alone make thinking about aliens perfectly rational,” he said. “The real challenge is to work out what aliens might actually be like.”
The answer, he suggests, is that most of it will be the equivalent of microbes or simple animals — the sort of life that has dominated Earth for most of its history.
One scene in his documentary for the Discovery Channel shows herds of two-legged herbivores browsing on an alien cliff-face where they are picked off by flying, yellow lizard-like predators. Another shows glowing fluorescent aquatic animals forming vast shoals in the oceans thought to underlie the thick ice coating Europa, one of the moons of Jupiter.
Such scenes are speculative, but Hawking uses them to lead on to a serious point: that a few life forms could be intelligent and pose a threat. Hawking believes that contact with such a species could be devastating for humanity.
He suggests that aliens might simply raid Earth for its resources and then move on: “We only have to look at ourselves to see how intelligent life might develop into something we wouldn’t want to meet. I imagine they might exist in massive ships, having used up all the resources from their home planet. Such advanced aliens would perhaps become nomads, looking to conquer and colonise whatever planets they can reach.”...Jonathan Leake {picture from article)

Something Missing?
This appeared ib Stephen Wagners Newsletter. What do you think?
"When something you need disappears, try asking the crows for help
There are many stories on this website about the "borrower" phenomenon, or disappearing object phenomenon (DOPler effect). In these cases, a commonly used object goes missing and the owner searches in vain for it everywhere. Then later - sometimes hours, sometimes days or even weeks later - the object inexplicably reappears, either in an obvious spot that had been searched before, or in some impossible location.
In the report below, S.D. Geiger gives us a Native American twist on the phenomenon with a tradition that asks the crows to return the missing object. In myth and lore, the crow is a symbol of mystery, magic, prophecy, creation, cunning and trickery. They earned these attributes, at least in part, because of their mischievous nature: crows like to steal shiny objects. And that might explain why asking the crows to return a missing object makes sense - they might have taken it!
According to Native American Totems and Their Meanings, the crow symbolizes "justice, shape shifting, change, creativity, spiritual strength, energy, community sharing, and balance." And Native American Animal Symbols - Who are They, What do They Mean and Why characterizes the crow as "a carrier of souls from darkness into light and guards against fear in the dark; also a shapeshifter; keeper of spiritual law; likes to steal shiny bright objects; always a clown. Look for the bright and shiny aspects of life."
So does asking the crows work? Here is S.D. Geiger's story....
IT WAS THE summer of 2009, where the west coast of Vancouver Island felt tropical in heat waves. I went to a Cree Sweat Lodge led by my trusted mentor, whom I had known for years. I was now the fire tender for his lodges. I was surprised to see a different couple come to the lodge this time; surprised by the fact they were both skinny, pale, covered in tattoos, and they were obviously skeptical about native culture.
Now I must note that I knew my mentor was a very powerful man; however, I always had doubts because his arrogance, as sometimes he became cocky and would attempt tricks of magic to prove he was powerful. This is exactly what I was thinking as soon as he said, "Aho aho, the great spirits have just told me that someone here lost their keys." As soon as I heard that I was thinking, "What the ----?" The new couple were scared and yelling, "Oh my god! That is so weird because this morning we just lost our house keys! This is freaky! What is going on?"
I was just as confused as they were. I had no idea what was going on, and I was the fire tender! What I did know was that my mentor would have a splendid time getting a jolt out of some random skeptics. I decided to play along with it, not believing anything he said.
CROW DELIVERS
Aho," he continued, "if you just ask Crow to help you find your keys, he will do what you ask. Just remember..." his voice deepened with mystery for his climax, "to thank Crow generously after." It was so odd. I knew my mentor had a fun personality and liked to mess around now and then, but I knew he would never stoop to the level of stealing someone's keys. Besides, he had been busy with preparing ceremony for the day before and all day that day, and my eyes had been on him the whole time - but I was still considering that. Even if it was true that crows would help locate lost objects, I still found it odd that anything spiritual should be based on material objects in the first place.
Later that same day, I decided to attend an evening movie. I accidentally stumbled upon the same odd couple from the sweat lodge earlier. I was just as shocked as they were when we noticed we were standing in the same line waiting for popcorn. They stampeded into me with wide eyes, talking loudly. They told me they were afraid and shocked because once they had returned home, their house keys were just laying perfectly sprawled out on their table. "Needless to say, we did thank Crow a lot after that!" they told me. The frightened couple giggled.
I still wasn't convinced. Maybe my mentor did steal their keys and somehow miraculously made it to their house before they arrived? I tried to make sense of it, no matter how little sense my reasoning was."

Strange events In The UK
Storyteller & author Lionel Fanthorpe is a fascinating man and never have I heard anyone relate even the simplest of experiences with such flair. You will be surprised by his background if you visit his site..
Recently on Coast To Coast AM he talked about the fascination with mysteries "which he believes is motivated by people's innate curiosity. In his recent survey on spirits and demons in the U.K., he came across some interesting reports. These included strange purple claw-like fingers said to haunt a cathedral, a water demon believed to lurk under the foundation of a church that was built over water, and an evil entity that appears as a dark mist at a castle."

Teens Have A Ride From A UFO
This was an interesting story.
"UFO picks up Laconia, NH car with teens and drops 180 feet away
April 18, 7:08 PMUFO ExaminerRoger Marsh
Two New Hampshire teenagers sitting in a parked car were approached by a black-colored UFO in Laconia on March 20, 2010, lifted into the air and then dropped back onto pavement 180 feet away, according to testimony from the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) database....
The 18-year-old girl and 16-year-old boy both offer testimony about their encounter.
The two used the girl's mother's car and went to a Laconia destination that has not been released.
"We were just sitting there and I looked up at the moon," the female witness stated. "I saw this weird black-shaped object. And then, I said to my boyfriend, 'What was that?'”
Both accounts describe the same events. They saw an object coming toward them from the sky and began to panic. When they attempted to drive away, the car they were operating was lifted up off the ground. Both describe an odd smell during the incident.
When the car hit the pavement 180 feet away, the windshield cracked and the air bags deployed.
Firmani said there was no damage to the body of the car, but that there was about $5,000 damage to the underside of the car.
The male witness descibed the UFO.
"I don’t know how to explain this but it turns into a ball when it wants to slow down and move around quickly and when it wants to go fast, straight, it turns into a flat plate with maze box-shaped lined lights. These were on all the time."
He describes attempting to drive away.
"The front end got picked up and the car could not move. We steered left and right but the car just kept on going up into the air."
When the car hit the ground, they drove quickly away to the girl's home where her mother called the police."...

Ancient Aliens:
I was going to post something else until finding that a program now a series I have eagerly awaited premeirs tonight on the History Channel...Ancient Aliens.(8PM EST)
", Publisher Giorgio Tsoukalos talked about his new History Channel TV show, Ancient Aliens. The 10-part series, which features George Noory as one of the interview subjects, explores different theories relating to extraterrestrials visiting Earth in ancient times. The first episode (premiering tonight, April 20th) takes a look at evidence for ancient flying machines including Egypt's Saqqara Bird, and India's vimanas."
http://www.legendarytimes.com/giorgio/
Picture from his site.
From Wikipedia:
"
The Saqqara Bird is a bird-shaped artifact made of sycamore wood, discovered during the 1898 excavation of the Pa-di-Imen tomb in Saqqara, Egypt. It has been dated to approximately 200 BC and is now housed in the Egyptian Museum in Cairo. The Saqqara Bird has a wingspan of 7.2 inches and weighs 39.120 grams....
Controversial ideas
Some have suggested that the Saqqara Bird may represent evidence that knowledge of the principles of aviation existed many centuries before such are generally believed to have first been discovered.[citation needed]
Egyptian physician, archaeologist, parapsychologist and dowser[[2]] Khalil Messiha has speculated that the ancient Egyptians developed the first aircraft.[3] He wrote that it "represents a diminutive of an original monoplane still present in Saqqara."[3] He also claimed that the Saqqara Bird could function as a glider if it had a horizontal tailplane, which he "suppose[d] was lost,"[3] and noted that the Egyptians often placed miniaturized representations of their technology in their tombs.[4]
Messiha contended that the Saqqara Bird differs significantly from other statues and models of birds housed in the Cairo museum. According to Messiha, the Saqqara Bird has a vertical tailplane which is unlike the generally horizontal shape of a real bird's tail.[3] It is also legless and has wings set at an angle Messiha sees as similar to that of modern aircraft, which he considered an attempt to create aerodynamic lift.[3]
In spite of these claims, however, no ancient Egyptian aircraft have ever been found, nor has any other evidence suggesting their existence come to light. As a result, the theory that the Saqqara Bird is a model of a flying machine is not accepted by mainstream Egyptologists."

Book Unites Stone Age and Present Against Evil Entity
Recently.author and investigator Graham Hancock discussed his research of lost civilizations, ancient global cataclysms, and consciousness, as well as his new novel Entangled.
The book which deals with time travel, NDEs, and the supernatural. "History's past has been hidden from us, particularly as you go back further than 5,000 years ago, he commented. "I think there's been a huge forgotten episode in human history...all the myths and traditions of a great lost civilization destroyed in a huge cataclysm leaving only a very few survivors...are absolutely true," he said, noting that it was "a time when something so horrendous happened to the Earth and humanity that our memory banks were virtually completely wiped."
These cataclysmic events took place at the end of the last Ice Age, around 12,000 years ago, with gigantic ice sheets melting sometimes quite rapidly, creating waves that reached 600 feet high, he detailed. This led to a 30 ft. rise in sea level, with massive land areas (estimated to be the size of the whole of Europe and China) swallowed by the sea. During this time, there were also huge spikes in seismic and volcanic activity, with mass extinctions, and a "global winter" that may have lasted 800-900 years, Hancock said, adding that we might be the next "lost civilization" if similar climate/earth changes occur again.
His new book Entangled features a plot line in which two characters from different time periods, one current day, the other from the Stone Age, are able to communicate with each other through consciousness in order to stop the actions of an evil supernatural entity who appears in both time frames. The first four chapters of the book are available for free online.

UFO studies should be 'legitimate university subject', claims American professor
Interesting article.What do you think?
"The New York anthropology professor said the subject should be part of the mainstream as a serious “area of study”.
The Niagara County Community College, a state university in New York, lecturer said due to the high amount of sightings every year, it should follow that students should be able to investigate phenomenon.
“It's important that the whole subject be brought out in the open and investigated.”
Prof Haseley, who is also head of the Western New York Mutual UFO Network, an organisation that is focused on UFO research, said there were up to 50 UFO sightings are reported every month across region.
He said the group investigated the sightings in a “scientific manner” using field investigation, radar, astronomy and meteorology.
"To say we are UFO believers basically implies we are taking this on faith, and that's not the case. There's plenty of evidence,” he said."

New Ideas Of Bigfoot
This sounds interesting..
"While the prevailing theory says that Bigfoot is an undiscovered hominid, researcher Lisa Shiel's book Backyard Bigfoot provides compelling evidence that there may be more to creature than that. She shares her own personal experiences which saw her horses' manes braided, possibly by the infamous entity, and a series of rudimentary communications with the creature via 'stick signs' that appeared in her yard. Daring to delve into the controversial "paranormal Bigfoot" theory as well as possible UFO and psychic connections to the creature, Backyard Bigfoot will have you looking at the phenomenon in a whole new light."

African Ruins & the Annunaki:
You have probably heard of the recent educational programs on TV that cite Africa as the place where humans began according to genetic history. In that light this recent claim is interesting.A synoposis of a program from Coast To Coast AM :
"On Thursday's show, publisher and producer Michael Tellinger discussed his study of ancient ruins at the southern tip of Africa, which he believes were associated with a vanished civilization that ET visitors, the Annunaki, brought together over 200,000 years ago, when they came here to mine gold. The ruins, which he's investigated along with Johan Heine, consist of thousands of stone structures over a large area. The structures show evidence of their extreme antiquity through erosion and patina growth, he detailed. One of the most important ruins he referred to as "Adam's Calendar," a monolithic stone calendar that could mark time out by the day.
The Annunaki tinkered with human genetics to make their mine workers, Tellinger said, referencing the work of Zecharia Sitchin. Among the ruins are hexagonal shapes clustered together like honeycombs, which he speculated could have been used as cloning tanks. Further, he suggested that many of the structures, made out of stones that contain quartz, were used as energy devices to power the large settlements.
By studying the area using aerial maps, Tellinger determined there were three great cities, some 60 x 60 miles each, one of which included Great Zimbabwe. Among the ruins, the first pyramids can be found, and details carved into some of the rocks include the Ankh symbol-- thousands of years before the Egyptian civilization used it, he reported.
http://makomati.org/
From the above site and the pictures:
:
These mysterious ancient ruins consist of dwellings, forts, temples roads, irrigation systems and agricultural terraces that cover thousands of square kilometres. It is our estimate that more stone went into building these features than went into building all of the Egyptian pyramids. It is an archaeologist’s dream that will unveil even greater and more mysterious secrets in years to come."

More On The Shroud Of Turin
To add to the next to the last post on Te Shroud, just saw this. You may have been familiar with it but it was new to me.Not surprising...
"Hitler 'wanted to steal' Turin Shroud
The Turin Shroud, said to be the burial cloth of Christ, was secretly hidden in a Benedictine abbey during the Second World War because the Vatican feared that Adolf Hitler wanted to steal it.
Nick Squires in Rome
Published: 10:28PM BST 06 Apr 2010
The shroud was transferred for its safety to the Benedictine sanctuary of Montevergine in Avellino, in the southern Campania region of Italy in 1939 and was only transferred to Turin in 1946
The current director of the library at the abbey, Father Andrea Cardin, said the reason behind the move was because Hitler was "obsessed" with the sacred relic.
Both the Vatican and the Italian royal family, the Savoys, who were the guardians and owners of the shroud, feared that the German leader, who had an interest in the esoteric, might try to steal the linen cloth.
In an interview with an Italian magazine, Diva e Donna, Father Cardin said: "The Holy Shroud was moved in secret to the sanctuary in the Campania region on the precise orders of the House of Savoy and the Vatican.
"Officially this was to protect it from possible bombing (in Turin). In reality, it was moved to hide it from Hitler who was apparently obsessed by it. When he visited Italy in 1938, top-ranking Nazi aides asked unusual and insistent questions about the Shroud."
Father Cardin, a Benedictine monk, said that after Italy entered the war in alliance with Hitler, and German forces were sent to Italy, the shroud was very nearly discovered in its secret hiding place.
"In 1943 when German troops searched the Montevergine church, the monks there pretended to be in deep prayer before the altar, inside which the relic was hidden. This was the only reason it wasn't discovered."

Oriental Yeti' Baffles Scientists

"Oriental Yeti' Baffles Scientists
A strange creature, nicknamed the "Oriental Yeti," was captured in China recently. It looks somewhat like a bear without fur, has a tail like that of a kangaroo, and makes sounds like a cat. More here.

A bizarre creature, dubbed the “oriental yeti”, has baffled scientists after emerging from ancient woodlands in remote central China.
The hairless beast was trapped by hunters in Sichuan province after locals reported spotting what they thought was a bear.
One hunter, Lu Chin, said: “It looks a bit like a bear but it doesn’t have any fur and it has a tail like a kangaroo..."

Shroud of Turin:
This Easter, I was among the millions who watched the History Channel presentation "The Real Face Of Jesus,"It had aired earlier in the week as well.It was an amazing show.
You probably are well informed about The Shroud. If your interest is lasting, the introduction from this website would be of interest. If you are not aware of the on going process of evaluating it,it gives a good summary.
"The Shroud of Turin is a centuries old linen cloth that bears the image of a crucified man. A man that millions believe to be Jesus of Nazareth. Is it really the cloth that wrapped his crucified body, or is it simply a medieval forgery, a hoax perpetrated by some clever artist? Modern science has completed hundreds of thousands of hours of detailed study and intense research on the Shroud. It is, in fact, the single most studied artifact in human history, and we know more about it today than we ever have before. And yet, the controversy still rages. This web site will keep you abreast of current research, provide you with accurate data from the previous research and let you interact with the researchers themselves. We believe that if you have access to the facts, you can make up your own mind about the Shroud. ..." http://www.shroud.com/
From the Coast To Coast AM newsletter
:George Noory hosted Easter night, with author Jerome Corsi talking about his new novel The Shroud Codex. They were joined in the latter part of the show by Shroud researcher/photographer Barrie Schwortz. Corsi has concluded that the mysterious Shroud was the authentic burial cloth of Jesus, and the unusual markings on it were formed by supernatural means. The unique image of the Shroud shows evidence of the resurrection, possibly involving levitation and a burst of a light, and this process can be compared to modern particle physics with its emphasis on multi-dimensionality, he explained.
The Shroud has 3D-like qualities that reveal hundreds of scourge marks from the beating he received from a Roman officer, and evidence that he was nailed on the cross via his wrists instead of his palms, Corsi reported. This last detail corresponds with the way Romans actually crucified people rather than how Jesus has been typically depicted in paintings showing him on the cross. Corsi also discussed the work of Ray Downing who has used 3D computer technology to produce the "real face of Jesus," using the image of the crucified man in the Shroud of Turin.
The Shroud is not a painting, photo, etching or other recognizable art form, and how it was made remains a genuine mystery, said Schwortz, who noted that more accurate carbon dating of the cloth could affirm that it was from the first century (rather than the medieval period, as has been claimed). A rare exhibition of the Shroud is taking place this year, from April 10-May 23, at the Cathedral of Turin in Italy."

What Does the Easter Bunny Have To Do With Easter?
I usually check Wikipedia or the History Channel for this type information but this was nicely done in Discovery News.
"There's no story in the Bible about a long-eared, cotton-tailed creature known as the Easter Bunny. Neither is there a passage about young children painting eggs or hunting for baskets overflowing with scrumptious Easter goodies.
And real rabbits certainly don't lay eggs.
So why are these traditions so ingrained in Easter Sunday? And what do they have to do with the resurrection of Jesus?
Well, nothing.
Bunnies, eggs, Easter gifts and fluffy, yellow chicks in gardening hats all stem from pagan roots. They were incorporated into the celebration of Easter separately from the Christian tradition of honoring the day Jesus Christ rose from the dead.
According to University of Florida's Center for Children's Literature and Culture, the origin of the celebration -- and the Easter bunny -- can be traced back to 13th century, pre-Christian Germany, when people worshiped several gods and goddesses. The Teutonic deity Eostra was the goddess of spring and fertility, and feasts were held in her honor on the Vernal Equinox. Her symbol was the rabbit because of the animal’s high reproduction rate.
Spring also symbolized new life and rebirth; eggs were an ancient symbol of fertility. According to History.com, Easter eggs represent Jesus' resurrection. However, this association came much later when Roman Catholicism became the dominant religion in Germany in the 15th century and merged with already ingrained pagan beliefs.
The first Easter bunny legend was documented in the 1500s. By 1680, the first story about a rabbit laying eggs and hiding them in a garden was published. These legends were brought to the United States in the 1700s when German immigrants settled in Pennsylvania Dutch country, according to the Center for Children's Literature and Culture. ..."

Undersea Creature Discovered
A submarine exploring the ocean's depths recently returned with an unexpected visitor: a crablike critter that has left many readers startled and horrified.
In a posting to social bookmarking site Reddit, a deep-sea technician detailed the finding, asking the site's readers to help identify what exactly the bizarre looking creature was.
The post reads, "I work for a Sub-sea Survey Company, recently this beast came up attached to one of our ROVs. It measures a wee bit over 2.5 feet head to tail, and we expect it latched onto the ROV at roughly 8,500 feet depth. Unfortunately, the e-mail that these pictures were attached to came from a contractor, and the ship he was operating from (and therefore location) is unknown, so I can't tell you what part of the Earth this beast was living."
The pictures reveal the creature to be a giant isopod, a large crustacean that dwells in deep Atlantic and Pacific waters. This particular creature is a Bathynomus giganteus, a deep-sea scavenger that feeds on dead whales, fish and squid.
