Sedona ,A New Age Hotspot For Sightings

Most reports say that 60% of Americans believe in UFOs with an outer space origin. Some believe even more legitimate sightings are occurring. In the UK it is said these have increased 100% in the past three years. While several "hot spots" in the US are noted in the desert near the infamous Area 51, Sedona Arizona is considered to be such an area.

Those interested in New Age phenomena are familisr with Sedona,It's geographic location and make up has made it a center for spiritual growth and healing. One area resident says
"There is a very sacred feeling when you enter this area. From the moment you are in the presence of the magnificence of Sedona's natural beauty you may feel a wave of peace and serenity caress you."

Wikipedia includes in the discussion of Sedona:

Sedona is known by people from around the world as a powerful spiritual center comprised of many subtle energy vortexes. Many of these special places on the earth were the sites of ancient sacred ceremonies and prayer rituals Sedona's main attraction is its stunning array of red sandstone formations, the Red Rocks of Sedona. The formations appear to glow in brilliant orange and red when illuminated by the rising or setting sun. The Red Rocks form a breathtaking backdrop for everything from spiritual pursuits to the hundreds of hiking and mountain biking trails. There is a specialized New Age tourist industry"
Some purported "spiritual vortices" are said to be concentrated in the Sedona area at Bell Rock, Airport Mesa, Cathedral Rock, Boynton Canyon, and Schnebly Hill.[9][10]

The validity of these vortices is widely debated. Mainstream opinion considers such phenomena to be New Age mythology, but a number of believers do consistently maintain that such vortices are real natural phenomena. The vortices are linked by some to the disproportionately high number of UFO sightings that occur in the Sedona area[

A recent program on UFO Hunters a TV show on the History Channel tells of a large ranch purchased a few years ago by the Government for the Forestry Service was enclosed and is manned by guards allowing no unauthorized persons to enter. Why that expense,it is wondered.Could it be related to the sightings. Are the vortices linked to the appearance and "winking out" disappearances of the UFOs? Will we hear more of the Bradshaw Ranch,as it is still called?

This is really a tough question for me....Do I believe in UFO's? Absolutely, but a UFO is just an unidentified flying object, right? There are lots of them around. Do I believe that UFO's are actually alien spacecraft? That is the tough question. I don't think so, but that doesn't mean that I don't think there is alien life out there somewhere. I think it would be pretty arrogant to think that in all of the billions of solar systems out there, that this is the only planet that was able to develop life, but from a scientific viewpoint, I would have to think that those distances are just to vast to have spaceships buzzing back and forth between worlds.

On the other hand, unexplained is unexplained.

Great blog on Sedona. I've always wanted to go as I hear it's incredible. Asheville has been compared to Sedona (not in the UFO sense) but as a healing center.
